Re: Lost Gate
Apologies on resurrecting a two year old topic, but I read this a few months ago, and I really enjoyed it. The concept was a very interesting one (mythology and all), although I found the ending to be lacking (seemed to rush to a conclusion that left me unfulfilled). I'm definitely looking forward t...

Same here. There wasn't a specific book that got me here--I think it was the repeated exposure that gave the credibility for me to check it out.I found PWEB because it was in one of the acknowledgements. I can't remember which specific book though.

Re: Launchie Barracks
Xenocide is a very polarizing book. I fall into the camp of those who love it. It's my favorite of the Speaker trilogy. I love the Path storyline. CotM is actually my least favorite of those. And I much prefer the Speaker series to the Shadow one. That's a wonderful xkcd. The Path storyline reminds...

Re: Launchie Barracks
I'm AbsolveXenocide (or Ryan, if you prefer)--college student looking to go into fundraising or student affairs somewhere, at some point. Ender's Game, Shadow of the Hegemon, and Speaker for the Dead are among my favorites. Xenocide and Shadow Puppets are probably my two least favorite (for very dif...

Re: Obligatory Intro Topic
Welcome! You mentioned a couple of my least favorite non-Ender OSC books (Empire and Invasive Procedures). If you are interested in trying some others, I highly recommend Pastwatch, Worthing Saga, Songmaster, and his collection of short stories, Maps in a Mirror. Those are some of my favorites. Pas...

Re: Shadows Alive
So I'm rereading Xenocide right now (am I the only one who find it almost insufferably philosophical?) and a bit of speculation for Shadows Alive hit me: Am I the only one who feels like Volescu has something to do with both the Descoladores and the Path OCD trait? If I recall correctly from the Sha...

Obligatory Intro Topic
Ho Pweb, I'm a longtime lurker on here to get news on the Enderverse. I stumbled onto Ender's Game in summer 2006 probably and was shocked at how wonderful this random book I found, which spurred me on to read more. Other than the random short stories, I've read almost all of the existing Enderverse...
