My view again
I believe in a loving and caring God who can do anything, but He usually chooses not to interfere. I voted evolution and creation because I BELIEVE (the most important word in English) that God created the Earth through evolution, and God explained Evolution through Creation. I BELIEVE, but I do not...

I believe Jesus died and was resurrected, but to understand, you'd have to define "resurrected".
Resurrected could mean he was remembered, etc.

Nuanced
True socialism is a very good reform, but destructive, hijacked socialism (that was present in the Soviet Republics and China) is just the opposite. In a society where class is not decided by anything but personal choice would be great! Government paying for the necessities of life would help millio...

Absolutely
Mandatory organ donation is something that should be obvious for any modern government.
I know that when I die, I won't need my organs anymore, I'll just rot!

Peace is evident in both Christianity and Islam
Alright, taking a break from endless bickering about christianity. Do you think Islam is an inherently peaceful religion thats been hijacked by extremists, or a fundamentally violent religion? I am a Christian who believes in peace as Jesus' message. Mohammed had a similar message. Hearkening back ...

Unoffended
Sorry if I came on a little strong.
I just posted what I thought.
I'm sorry if I led anyone to think I took offence.
Indeed, without dissent, there is no democracy.

Eriador is essentially right in his early posts about quantum information transmission. Yes, the quantum state is changed and is copied across great distances immediately. For more interesting facts on electrical/information communication, look up the Semantic Web and it's visionary, Sir Timothy Ber...

Sadly, yes
Stilson's taunting and subsequent death defined the instability he suffered from. He was haunted by the vision of Stilson at battle school, defining how he acted, how he thought, and what he turned into. The video should be carefully done, though. Stilson should only be seen bleeding as Ender walks ...

Actuary
So Jayelle, are you an actuary, or just slightly cynical?
Truth be told, my uncle used to be an actuary, and though he was good, he said that it was a weighing of the evidence more than anything.
Whether this is false modesty or not, I don't know.
Anybody have more knowledge?

Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged is a must buy on DVD. Even better, see it live at a local theater. It is a hilarious modification that squeezes all (37?) plays into an hour and a half. If you've read all the plays, you'll get a kick out of the parody, wordplay, and sheer wit of how i...

Minor Characters ARE Interesting
As I read the series again, they catch my eye. The way Card writes them, I am guessing, and reguessing, and am yearning for more on the characters. I not only read for enjoyment, but to sharpen my mind against the genius children of the series. More books would be wonderful.

I most certainly read the shadow series, albeit out of order. First (for me) was Shadow Puppets, then Shadow...Hegemon, and last Shadow...Giant. While Bean had respect, he didn't love his soldiers, and his soldiers didn't worship him. They respected him as a good general who didn't gamble their live...

Look Around
Look Around by the famous singer-songwriter Will Rogers. It laments the loss of nature on Earth. One reason Ender wanted to save Earth was because of the visit to nature Graff took him on. Also, there are several allusions later to the projects of desalinization in Africa, and restoring Earth to her...

In the "Shadow" series, there are short snips of what life is like for Han, Virlomi, Alai, among others, that I really enjoy. I want to know WHY Han had the worst bed in his campaign against the Russians. I want to know HOW Alai got into a position of confidence in Damascus before he becam...

Empathy counts
Everyone wants to have someone to talk to. Ender could feel sorry for them when they had a problem, while Bean dismissed them. If the Jeesh could have a vote of Bean as commander versus a bugger, they'd choose the latter. Also, the more dedicated the underlings are to a commander, the more likely th...
