I forgot to add to that one, they also discontinued my favourite baby shampoo while they were at it. BASTARDS. :lecture: **** AND NOW THIS. f*** YOU, WART. YOU'RE ALMOST GONE AND I SEE A NEW ONE DEVELOPING RIGHT BESIDE YOU. I'm feeling stabby but that would hurt, so instead I'ma freeze that sucker s...

I like beets under very, very specific circumstances. Mostly I find they taste like dirt. But I have a beet borscht recipe I like, and that beet tart Rei mentioned, and possibly another beet-Thai fushion soup, but mostly they are gross.

I think Operation Banana may be starting to work. Not sure about it helping her sleep, since she's been biting everything in sight regardless, so it might be teeth waking her rather than hunger. But evidence at the other end points to improvement.

Re: Confessions of a 20-something mother
*sigh* I shouted at her this afternoon, too. It wasn't her fault the damned fire alarm went off and woke us up early, and she wasn't being bad, even, but she dug her toes in wrong and I shouted and she cried. I feel so awful right now. Rei is taking her out to knitting circle and I am going to have ...

Re: Confessions of a 20-something mother
Nom hasn't been giving me more than a handful of hours of sleep each night, and she's napping less and less during the day. I am so exhausted and today I just lost it and started sobbing when she wouldn't nap. I feel awful about leaving her in the playpen so much, but I don't have enough energy to p...

Today on the street I saw a guy with an awesome t-shirt. It said "ESCAPE VELOCITY - you can't leave home without it!" and had a little NASA logo. Plus the relevant equations.

Jam! My count as of tonight was 29 jars of jam made. And we're only part way through the season! I know what everyone's getting for Christmas this year, haha! Though I'm going to mix it up and make and can some barbeque sauce, chai concentrate, and possibly some chutney or mustard as well, so there'...

Read this in your MOST DRAMATIC VOICE. Rabid beaver proves a formidable foe in attack of 83-year-old woman Before he could maneuver his boat to come to her aid, the beaver took a chunk out of Peterson's right calf, tried to gnaw off her thumb and left a series of bite marks all over her body. But t...

Thank you, friendly breakfasting couple, who invited me into your garden to pick elderberries, climbed up on the wall and tossed them down to me, and told me to come back any time and let myself in to get more. May your patio ever be free of purple squished-berry stains!

That sounds effing awesome, buckshot. I want. I love soup, too! Rei is less of a fan, but he'll eat it if I make sure there's lots of bread on the side. Roasted red pepper and black bean, spinach and cilantro, middle eastern lentils (gotta come up with a better name), those are some of my current fa...
