Which is all fine and dandy, but religions tend to put a threat onto their "education." That is to say, "Now that we have told you, you MUST convert or die." Sometimes we leave the "threat" for God to take care of, but there were people in the past (and there will be ag...

Well, holding OSC in such esteem as a writer, perhaps they're actually idol threats, since the threats are to kill the people responsible for such an adaption (in addition to suicide), and HE is writing the adaption, as far as I know.

okay, it's a bad pun, but I couldn't resist

"portable" 15 kg rifle... 15 KILOS! That's pretty hefty for a RIFLE! Maybe they should just call it a canon!

and besides, every rifle has a non-lethal mode; just hit 'em with the butt!

You haven't been here very long DP, and couldn't possibly know how HONEST he was about his involvement. Don't call people liars before you do some research! Some of the people on this site actually ARE intimately acquainted with OSC (who frequently goes by Scott, by the way, rather than Orson). Unle...

Romania was definitely cool... much different than I expected (not that I expected it to be "bad," but it WAS in the 'axis of evil' for such a long time, after all). I would love to go back, and I am sure I will. Hopefully soon, but... who knows. Oh yeah, Why was I there? Just visiting on ...

All very true points, BlakCrow... and my metaphore wasn't exactly leakproof, as you noticed. But you did hit on another pet peeve... If the Inuit was perfectly happy with his igloo and fish every day, why should we ask him to "get a job" so he can be happy? It's not exactly a rhetorical qu...

Nicely put. We should all be a little more grateful for a bountiful harvest and/or enough to eat. I am not a farmer, but I respect them greatly, espe...
