I don't remember. I was going through puberty when I first read it, though, so I'll say "yes." Pretty much anything did.

SftD, however, I'm quite sure must have made me cry. But in a good, cleansing, non-histrionic way.

Shiranai. It's been too long for me to remember, but it doesn't seem like too particularly sad of a book. I'm not sure what would make me cry.

Ahg, I guess I'm a baby then. Which is odd, becuase books NEVER make me cry anymore...

Well, it's entirely possible to cry at the end of non-sad books. I know I've been close to tears a couple of times for reasons unknown when I get to the end of really good ones, but there might have been other factors. However, Ender's Game? No. I think I was just hungry for more.

I don't remember with Ender's Game, but I don't think so. It was 5am and I'd been reading since the evening before, so I think my dominant reaction was trembly exhaustion.

SftD may have made me cry, though.

I really don't think that a work of fiction can make me cry. In fact, I don't know what would actually make me cry :|.

I don't think I've ever cried from reading a book.

I do, however, cry during almost every movie if I'm watching it by myself.

I cried from CotM.

Other books, that I can remember off the top of my head, that have made me cry: HP and the Order of the Phoenix and The Time Traveler's Wife.

The only book that has made me cry, in the last 10 years, is Marley and Me. Such a sad ending...T_T

I cried from CotM.
Yeah, this one makes more sense to me, and I think I did, as well. A lot of it was just knowing that it was the last in the series, though. (At least, so far.)

Ender's game didn't make me cry. But, Xenocide did when the riot happened and they burned the mother tree.....*sniffle*

I got teary in COtM as well, mostly because it was the end. Plus with Jane's transformation, and Ender's end how could you not get misty?

I have to agree with Alea... CotM had some scenes that were a bit too much. Particularly when Miro tells young Val off... for once, i found my own words being said by Quara lol.

The time that still gets me in Speaker is when Ender's leaving Trondheim and Valentine's all like "I don't hate you! I love you, and when you leave that's my heart ripped out and taken away!" or something like that. That kills me. Also in EG when Ender remembers she's beautiful. Or when Ender remembers his mom praying over him. I'm a real softy.

And in Ender's Shadow when Bean quotes the bible at the end, that bit about Absalom, and my sons and stuff? That gets me every time.

"did"? no. "does"? yes.

I get choked up more and more each time I read it.

SPOILER if you havent read Children of the Mind or Shadow of the Giant

While EG in itself did not make me cry, I must admit that two books in the Ender series, and a few other OSC books have made me cry in places. Children of the Mind, I cried when Ender died (yes im a pussy, i dont need fifteen messages following this one saying so) then at the end i cried when Miro marries Jane/Val and Peter marries Wang-Mu and they disappear. Then in Shadow of the Giant, I cried when I read the letter Bean writes for Petra at the end, and then I cried again when I realized that Peter said I love you in his own words prior to reading the letter to Petra. Keep in mind, when I get tired I get irrationally emotional, and I have stayed up through the night and most the day finishing OSC books on numerous occasions.

Pshh, nothing ta be ashamed of, it was sad. I don't think I cried when he died, but I must have during the funeral and Plikt's speaking. And that's not a single instant either; damn thing lasted a little while.

Plus that's the beauty of the story. You get so attached to Ender, cos like they said, he's just good. And when someone you love dies, even if you could never really talk to them or anything, it sucks. And you cry.

Same here, but out of anger i think. I always think "you f****** idiot", but then i get all teared up. Then my buddy sees me and says, "DUDE, are you crying?". I say, "HECK NO, im just alergic to your cat!". Then he says "i dont have a cat" and i say "Oh"

I didn't cry over EG, but I just finished listening to the audio of SotG and I bawled like a baby when Petra read the letter.

And in Xenocide with the riot and the mother tree.

And in CotM when Ender died.

*sniffle*

Yeah...

No idea. It's one of those random weird things. I laughed at the end of Titanic, but Ender's Game made me cry......

It does'nt make much sense.

I'm a wimp... but I cried at the end of SotG, when Petra is reading Bean's letter, but I get all teary during the riot because I love animals.

GO DIE! YOU CRIED TOO!

EG didn't.

Children of the Mind almost did.

End of Shadow of the Giant made me cry, at the end. If you DIDN'T cry at the end of SotG, you are a HEARTLESS. PERSON.

No, but I'm pretty sure Speaker for the Dead did. Possibly CotM, when Ender died.
