My daughter was sitting on my lap while I was reading pweb and got very, very excited that Apple Jack was on the screen.
That puts a smile on my face.

AJ's too.

I don't usually browse ponychan, but... (I think I posted in that thread somewhere, though I'm not sure I can even remember where)

[Edit: And of course there's sethisto; his life is in certain ways forever changed.]

Also, I try to make sure I don't just post everything neat I find so I don't flood this with links, but: http://www.discodiscord.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So, we have to wait 'til the 15th for the next episode, but...

For the Luna fans she will be appearing in episode 4.

Luna-tics are already going nuts all over the ponynets. Personally I don't think she compares to the God-Empress of All Equestria Celestia, but that's just me.

- 1,000 year reign
- 1,000 years of peace, prosperity and stability
- greatest government of all time
- who cares that enemies of the state are exiled to the moon?

Since we've been watching...quite a bit of My Little Pony in our house lately, Ginny's play has been alot of pretending she's a pony. She usually chooses one of main six, gives her sister a random pony, names Paul to be Princess Celestia and I get the role of...
Nightmare Moon. This is how my daughter views me.

Eeesh... Good luck with that!
Perhaps the appearance of Luna in a less adversarial role with help.
But probably not. I can make no claims regarding a girl's early relationship with her mother.

In other news.. They had this at the $.99 cent store across the street from work where I get my beef jerky during lunch, so I had to pick it up.
Now when I'm bored at work I can go in my car and color like a little kid.

For what it's worth, Jan, Princess Celestia is sometimes (quite often) referred to as Trollestia...

Satya, when do I get my specialty, Pweb edition MLP coloring book art? :D

Once I have some downtime at work and start coloring it in when I'm bored. :D

Oh man, I so almost bought that the other night at the dollar store. I'm not sure why I didn't.

So after watching all the episodes repeatedly with Ginny as my beard, I've decided that the Cutie Mark Chronicles is my favorite episode.
Why?

1) Acknowledgement of Rainbow Dash as the coolest
2) Equal play to all of them, including the Cutie Mark Crusaders, who I love.
3) MANE-hatten? Genius.
4) Fluttershy's song
5) Self-acknowledgement at the end of how cheesy it all is

This is the first time I can genuinely say that I liked Rarity without persuasion or coercion. Between her and Spike, I was laughing often and hard. Despite it being such a silly concept, it was hilarious and I loved it.

And list-making for the win. (Yeah, yeah, the FTW thing is so 5 years ago. I don't care.)

Who all are you waiting for, Satya? You, Fred, zero, and I have seen it. Jan watches but I'm not sure if she saw it yet and Nomi was on S1 at last check, so it will be awhile before she catches up.

I'm not so sure what could be so "spoiler"y about it, either. "Fluttershy isn't really fighting that bear." "Twilight doesn't really get sent back to magic kindergarten." shocking :stoned:

Well I guess that's everyone, hah.

Just haven't talked about it as much as I thought on /b/ what with the mod going full Discord over the last few days. And by that I mean literally, posting with Discord as his email and changing the font at random to Wingdings, putting random gifs as the background (an AJ one even!) and a bunch of other tricks. But it seems to have all been in fun.

ANYWAYS.

As has been said so many other places, it seem the whole episode was very thoughtful towards its internet fanbase, chockfull of awesome Twilight insane-faces, Fluttershy cracking open a bear (if you're not familiar with that meme) and so on. It gets less and less obviously a child's show every episode. Gollum reference, even. I doubt anyone in the target demographic grasped that. A lot of easter eggs to fans/fanon as well. Twilight's OCD confirmed for code-red levels. It was far better than I anticipated, considering the possible let down after a great season-opener; even with my obvious disappointment in so little AJ. Once we get through this boring Luna episode ( :wink: ) hopefully we'll have an AJ and a Rarity one. And a SONG!

Thought you guys might enjoy Ginny talking about MLP.

Let me know if you don't understand her. Sometimes she needs translation.

Originally I just interpreted this as an unintelligible loud noise, which I think characterizes Pinkie Pie pretty well. But "forever!" works, too :D

She goes around yelling "FOREVER" at people. She thinks it's how you keep friends...by yelling forever at them.

And yet another reason I really like this. Innocent appeal to its target demographic, and fun appeal to to the same demographic that enjoys slaughtering hordes of aliens and geeking out over Star Wars and LOTR.

I've have an artist friends who's been doing those for years! I love looking at pictures of the ponies she makes on facebook (she often make ponies that reflect herself and her roommates).

New episode this morning folks!

In other news...
I have been permanently banned from all boards on 4chan (along with, it would seem, all other bronies) in the latest attempt to purge it from anything MLP related.

I could swear I've voted already. I like Fluttershy. Even her sneezes are graceful.

Also, I have very limited exposure to 4chan, but considering what they allow (and even encourage) there, I find it mind-boggling that My Little Pony is a problem.

Well... we (and by we I mean they, not having joined their fun until around June) have had a running thread that has pretty much consistently been at the top of the front page for the last 8+ months. Then again, this isn't the first attempt to 'cleanse' it of those damnable ponies.

ANYWAYS.

Episode 4 in 480p:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDIvaph6aC8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
1080p:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBDs7T78lsQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I didn't have high expectations for the episode but I was pleasantly surprised. They took the character in a different direction from I think many anticipated.
