You guys didn't have Wikipedia races? We'd pick two random pages and race from one to the other using only links within the articles. Passed the time in some classes quite well.
That's what I mean, only we didn't time it... it became more about guile that way. "Hmm... will Doorhandle get me closer to my target, or Key (lock)? There were some rules, though, like "no disambiguation pages" and "no lists."
It's not timed. I mean, you'd have two (or more) people starting at a page, say get to that other page, and ready, set... GO!

Edit: Playing/watching SSBM and watching SSBB videos just makes me depressed and wish that those last two bastardizations never came to be. I somehow hope against hope that SSBB isn't as dissappointing as it looks.

I remember when we used to do that with LJ. Use the random LJ link thingie as a starting point, then try to find your way back to yourself via friends.

I had a confession that I wanted to post, and I typed it up. And then I liked it too much to post, as I wanted to use it for something else.

Does that make this a meta-confession?

After that, I really wished it had been a Bel-Air. That post could work so well with it, it's like I can see where the Bel-Air was before, and someone cut it out and put in "normal" text.

Edit: I'm glad Blu-ray has won (or is about to win) the format war, for really no reason other than it has a better name.

I am utterly confused by the Bel-Air comment and it's follow-up comments.

Someone please explain!

Right there with you, Luet.

I even googled it and am even more confused... it exists on forums and comments without explanation.

"Bel Air'd" online is to insert the lyrics to the theme song for THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR unexpectedly in the midst of a large block of text.

It's a cousin of the "Rick Roll" posting a link to a specific site, but when the site is actually opened - it instead plays Rick Astley's song "Never Gonna Give You Up" and sometimes shows pictures of Rick Astley.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Actually, for you guys to know about Bel-Air, it's actually kind of early. I mean, it's only been around for... for... well, for quite a long time in internet-years. But most people outside of certain circles don't know about it.

It reminds me of a certain internet phenomenon that I didn't know about a few years back. A bunch of my friends would keep saying it around me and laughing uproariously, and I would have no clue what the heck they were talking about, and noone I asked seemed to know, either, and of course the friends wouldn't explain to me. I looked all over the internet and couldn't even find an answer there. It was several months before one of them would even give me a clue, and from that I was able to glean at least the source of their amusement, but still didn't have the exact answer as to why it was so confusing. Finally I build a gigantic computer to figure out it, in the basement of my house, and that's when my mom got scared, she said "You're moving in with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air."

I could be wrong, but I believe there was a thread where everyone posted a line from the fresh prince song. I think it might have been in the middle of the "Kill this Thread" topic. Does anyoene else remember this?

If so, you just gotta take of every 'Zig' for great justice. Nothing simpler.

LOL, that was pretty funny!

Back on topic, I also never heard of the Bel-Air one. When did it come about?

Hmm. Yet another reason to love pweb. You guys keep me in the know with all these hip net fads. This one seems right up my alley since I do randomly break out into singing Bel Air (much to my husband's dismay).

I still consider it mostly "a 4chan thing", so it's not late, really. It's been around for awhile, I think, but it hasn't spread with the anywhere near the ferocity of AYB.

Bel-Airs have been mentioned at least once before, when Mobius posted "in after belair" or something after someone said something about philly. But I guess that's a bit obscure.

Mich's post is a fine example of a Bel-Air, but I also like this as an example, though I'm assuming that's fake.
There's also this extensive guide on Bel Air Rolling.
This is possibly one of my favorites. Have you seen the one with the rotoscoped moot? ("Hello kitty" version, of course)

Confession: Since it takes time for some of my favorite books to come in my mother language, I read them first in English and then afterwards again, in my language. It re-creates the experience of the first reading (though I already know what's going to happen) AND helps me understand any mis-understood things from the previous read. It's nice. (I'm currently re-reading Artemis Fowl and the Opal Deception and I recalled that..I also did it- the re-reading- for every Harry Potter book since book 5)

Confession: Last year, when I had to choose between Biology, Physics and Chemistry (Had to choose 2 to study), I chose Biology and Chemistry because I thought that Physics was as boring as it could get, and it was just mathematics with different equations. Now, every tuesday morning and thursday afternoon, I see how wrong I was. (Mathematics with different equations >>>>> Learning about the blood system and stuff like that, by a LONG shot. Oh, and Chemistry sucks as well.)

Confession: Despite the fact that I'm taking courses that I love, with my favorite professors, alongside some very close friends, now more than ever, I'm burnt out on college. I graduate in less than two months and I've had serious thoughts of dropping out, or at the very least, not continuing.

Confession: There are so many things I should be preparing for the wedding, things I should be doing around the apartment to prepare to move out, cases I should be briefing, stories I should be writing, papers I should have turned in a week ago, but instead I'm playing on Digg, Facebook, Pweb, and Myspace.

Confession: In the passed year I know of at least 10 people who are pregnant/had a child (including 2 people on Pweb). That's kind of a scary thought.

Confession: My girlfriend thinks she might be pregnant. She took a pregnancy test and it was negative. And she still has been getting her period. But she has that feeling as well as some symptoms. Not to mention we haven't always been the safest. This is not the right time for this. I'm trying to get out of debt, she is still in school. Plus her sister and sister-in-law just had babies and my sister-in-law is due in may, so outside help would probably be out of the question. That's a very scary thought.

Confession: As wrong as the timing and the financial situation are, I am okay with everything else. I have come to the realization that I am ready to be a father and I would love to have a baby with my girlfriend. This is absolutely frightening. After only seven months, I am hoping she is the one.

It's really great that you are ready to be so supportive of your girlfriend. But I doubt that she is pregnant if the test was negative and she hasn't even missed a period. She might just have pregnancy on the brain due to all the friends/relatives having babies (and maybe deep down she wants to have your baby someday :)).

Confession: Now and then I catch myself half-hoping I'm pregnant. I'm not, and I don't really want to be. Probably just the biological clock starting to make some noise. Still, though. Now and then it crosses my mind, and it's not an entirely unpleasant thought.

hehehehe.

Don't worry. I have preventative measures in place in order not to steal your specialness. :)

Anyhow, when I'm thinking logically, I don't want to be "special" until after I have a license, which means early thirties. When I was planning on going into academia, I was going to try to wait till after tenure, which would've been more mid to late thirties. (If I have a kid, there will only be one.)

'Course, early thirties is assuming I'm still in some kind of stable relationship with someone who wants baby, which is a whole 'nother story.

A lot can happen in a couple of years, I've observed.
