I always get these two words confused. I think gyromancy is a cool thing, but every once in a while I look up "Geomancy" thinking it is Gyromancy and I think... "hey, that's not as cool as I thought, huh". But then I see my mistake and all is well.

If we take this as a potential fantasy element for a story, I've always preferred touch-based clairvoyance. The Dead Zone is a good example. There were also the sniffers from the movie Push (though that's not a great movie) and the PalantÃr (seeing stones) from Lord of the Rings. The Palantir were especially awesome, with their whole "show you the truth in order to deceive you" angle.
