Dear body,

Thanksgiving is in 2 days, we're flying to Colorado, and I'm meeting most of her family for the first time... stop getting sick!

Dear Left Side of My Body,

I'm not sorry I tried to ice skate but I am sorry you took the falls. Please stop hurting sooner rather than later.

Love,
Me

Dear Body,

I'm sorry I quit working out and let a bit of the weight creep back on. I got the message on the scale this morning. Honest. I'm back on board.

Also, sorry for the bruise on the right shoulder. The AR-15 had less recoil than I was expecting, but it was enough.

Dear Body,

Whatever the hell you were doing yesterday, please for the love of God, not again today. Blinding headaches and severe puking are bad enough when my husband is home to help.

Body,

What's with this belly button thing? We're still 6 weeks away from delivery and you've never popped it out this far, even on the day of birth! You flatten out a it out a little, but my belly button is very deep and it never pops out the way that other people's do. This is a very weird thing for me.

Dear baby inside my body,

Get out of my ribs!! If you don't drop soon, I might go crazy!

Also, not EVERYTHING has to cause heartburn. Accept some foods as ph neutral, please?

Dear Left Side,
Thank you for feeling better and for making it happen with me hardly noticing after the first week. Life is simpler without constant pain.
Love,
Me

Dear body,

I know you're busy. You're doing important work. I appreciate that. But seriously, perk up. 8pm is a little early to go to bed.

Does everyone find out about said important work after the ultrasound?

ETA: Unless you just meant the stuff you do for a living, which is also, accurately, important work.

I'm going to shut up now!

It is amazing how tiring it is to grow a baby.

But then again, when you think about the fact that you're growing a whole new human being, it's not surprising that it takes so much energy. It's a whole new person!!

I meant the baby growing work! We'll make a general announcement to facebook and work friends after the ultrasound. You guys knew right after family. Because you're pretty much family. :)

Have you started thinking about names for either sex or is it too soon for that?

We have! Its probably early but we are so excited.

If its a girl, we'll name her Elizabeth Michelle.
If its a boy, we'll name him Logan Andrew.

Those are both really lovely!

When is the ultrasound?

And, yes, so tiring. It'll be easier soon, most likely, though. (And then hard again.)

Thanks for all the sleep! 16 hours should be enough for anyone, and I'm still tired. It's not you, it's me.

Dear Body,

Stop getting every single virus you're exposed to. Just stop. Make more white blood cells, damnit! Develop some immunity!

Congrats! Love both names.

Although you are among a now shocking amount of people in my life that insist on stealing my boy's name :stoned:. Four or five actual Logans named, with a couple more sprinkled in that would have been if they had boys.

You'll have to go with the slightly less cool baby name, Wolverine.

Logan was Nate's suggestion... and, yes its loosely based on Wolverine (and Patriots player Logan Mankin.)

Dear Head,

Please don't start hurting now. This would be the worst weekend you could pick for this.

Dear body,

First you came down with the flu. Now you have not one, but two fever blisters. Your lips are so swollen they're bigger than Janice the Muppet's lips! And the legislative session started today. You don't have time for this!

Dear Body,

10 more days. You can make it. I know the pain in pretty unbearable, as baby is constantly pushing out your rib cage and her tweaking your sciatic nerve so often is just cruel, but I need you to hang on! We're almost there!

Also, PLEASE be prepared to start producing milk! I really need you to kick it into gear quickly after birth. Day 3 is not soon enough for the hospital staff and I REALLY don't feel like fighting them this time. I just want a nice, calm, hospital stay. So start quickly and make a lot of milk for this baby, ok?

Thanks!
Me

Dear body,

We have got to figure out this morning (evening) sickness. 3 Tums and a freeze pop are not dinner.

Are you doing okay for the other meals in the day? The morning sickness is supposed to go away, right?

Breakfast and lunch are usually OK. I've been making sure to eat well at breakfast and get a solid meal in at lunch time. So far I'm not losing much weight and definitely not gaining. Supposedly it gets better in a couple weeks (at the start of the second trimester.)

 Thanks, guys!

And Kim, I really hope your morning sickness improves! I had no such luck. 20 weeks with both of the boys and all 39 weeks with Kinley. Zofran and Phenergan were my best friend!

My secret to feeling better this pregnancy has been not taking my prenatal vitamin. I discovered with Tyler that the prenatal made things worse, so I switched to a woman's vitamin. I was still super sick, even with the lower dose. This time, I took a woman's vitamin through the 1st trimester for the folic acid, but then stopped after that. And I've felt FABULOUS the whole rest of the time!! And I've felt better about the fact that I could eat healthy, locally grown foods to nourish my body, instead of having artificial vitamins that I may or may not throw up and not being able to keep any food down.

I am in no way "recommending" that you should stop your vitamin. But if the sickness doesn't improve with the end of the first trimester, you might want to try 2 kids gummy vitamins, a woman's vitamin, or a different brand of prenatal.
