Calling All Camera Whores - A Day In The Life Of __________

Postby Gravity Defier » Wed May 27, 2009 6:59 pm

I'm not sure if there's any interest on Pweb for something like this but it sure as sin can't hurt to ask. I'd like to see what a day in the life of different Pwebbers is like, as shown through pictures.

Basically, you grab your camera and take it with you all day, any random day of your choosing, wherever you go (minus the bathroom or similarly off-limits situations/places :P) and snap pictures. They don't have to be artistically framed or any big deal...they're just representative of your life, however average/dull it may or may not be.

You can choose to include picture of yourself or others, or have it be nothing but objects, buildings, rooms, places, etc. Show off a pet or don't. It's whatever strikes your fancy in your day-to-day activities. The only real rules are they have to be from the same day and you have to be the photographer. Unlike Cezen's thread, you can't just grab something off the internet and call it done.

So...anyone interested?

I'm supposed to say this was Syphon's idea. And it was. *shakes head from side to side* He totally came up with it. *points to self* :D

I might be in when I get my new cell phone with a good camera (3.2mp) next week.

Oh man, I've done quite a few of these.

This is from last year, when I was still in school: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2 ... e1f37c8078

These 2 are from this fall, when I was living in California
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2 ... 6f1b644259
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2 ... 389609c046

Unfortunately I was stupid and allowed most of the pictures from the typical-day-with-friends to be shared via someone else's Facebook, and their account was deleted....but I guess they would have been cheating anyway, since she was photographer for those.

I would TOTALLY be down for this... if my camera hadn't had the screen broken and then the charging cable lost. I'll look around for it, but I'm definitely interested in what everyone else is going to post.

I don't know. With all the cameras around our room you're sure not a one camera kind of man...

This sounds like a fun project that i'm pretty sure i'll actually do!

Alea, you're the laziest voyeur ever. If you want to see a day in my life at least go to the trouble of stalking me.

This could be interesting, if I actually had a camera. Although I am sure I would be getting odd looks from co-workers/family members when taking pictures of seemingly random things.

I've always wanted to do this, but lately I feel really self-conscious taking pictures. Not just of myself but of anything. Very weird. I'll try to get over that hump, though and give this a shot.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

So, I got my phone early and have been taking pictures all day so far. How/where should I post them when I'm done? Here or in a LJ post or photobucket/flickr album? Let me know which is the best way.

That works for me...except that mine will be fairly boring since I don't have a job or kids or anything very interesting.

I'm terribly pleased with this picture, from the day I went to the Arch (ie Monday)

Yay! I was originally thinking a photobucket/flickr slideshow/album with links in here but...
I think it would be fun if we each made our own thread.
this, with thumbnails or the actual images, would be cool, too. I honestly have no preference.

Boring, schmoring. I'll be interested to see the sorts of things you do on a typical day, which was the whole point. :)

I've been practicing, which means I'm trying to get a feel for what to take pictures of and trying to get over being self-conscious with a camera in my hands. I'll have a day done very soon.

That wasn't very nice, Jebus. Locke was proud of that pic, and you could have told him it didn't really belong here a bit nicer.

That's a very nice picture, Locke, but I'm afraid it doesn't really belong here, unless you go to the arch daily.

Man, don't I feel like a nugget head now. I'm sorry locke, that really was a super nice picture, I guess I just sometimes forget I'm dealing with real people and not just usernames on the internet, ya know? But I gotta learn to respect people's feelings more and, oh boy, I especially gotta learn to be more supportive of their artistic endeavours, that's the truth. I don't know how I can make this up to you, I think the only way is if maybe I got Jeesh_girl to be the meat in our people sandwich.

What do you say, Jeesh?

I don't really want to be eaten by a bunch of people, if that's what you mean.

And I can also be a bit insensitive, so I'm sorry if I've hurt anyone too.

Now, Jebus, let's get the hell out of here, cause this place is for pics, and not apologies.

So, if we're all going to have our own threads (well, those who do the project) can we do more then one day? I mean, probably not update every day or even every week/month, but just every now and then?

I'm so stupid

If I had taken my camera with me today you'd have seen the following.

creme brulee for breakfast (not healthy but I needed to eat the last of the frozen devils soon, can't let temptation sit around bothering me all the time)

Coffee Bean

The book I read while there.

Counting spare change

Walking to the bank to discover it closes at 2 on saturday not 4

putting a quart of oil in my car

Going to the gym

the steak I had for dinner

The theatre marquee with "Back to the Future marathon!" on it

The FOUR Deloreans parked outside the theatre

Including the damn near perfect replica Time Machine Delorean

A picture of me sitting inside the time machine hands on the wheel (this is why I'm stupid had I been doing this today I would have a picture of me inside the time machine. :( )

I was thinking as I was going home "curses, had I but brought my camera along with me for some random reason I would have the most awesome picture ever." then I got home, saw these threads, and began seriously kicking myself. Silly stupid me. :(

Why not? :)

Honestly, I'm enjoying the threads that are up so much, I'd hate it if there weren't some updates. Can't speak for anyone else, of course, but I'd be thrilled to see more - that goes for new ones, too. (I'm looking at you Ed, Kelly, Adam, elf, Jeff, Will, Syphon, and anyone else.)

This is SUCH a great idea. I'm enjoying the threads. If I can figure out a way to bring the camera to the hospital, without getting any patient info on the pictures, I'm gonna.

Had to put me up there first didn't ya?

But I'll see what I can do. It would be all on my cell phone and I am pretty sure that my phone is filled, so I would have to clear it out. This is alot to ask of a very lazy person. Just so you know. :D
