What's with this public hugging BS , it makes me feel icky! It seems to be the new thing , when we were in town after dinner we met some friends I havent seen in a while and I got the man hug thing right there in front of all Spokane. I do understand he (dude now in question) was just in France and Germany but geese I don't want swine (or homo) flu . ~

P.S. don't let me detract from p-web hugs i'm shure they are fine

I really hope that's a joke. It's fine if you're not comfortable with hugging another man, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with hugging anyone.

Hugging in public is something I am proud to say I do all the time without any thought of the "consequences." And I'm talking about man hugs here.

But ( I'm hoping it's not a local thing here) have you noticed , like when a small group of your friends bump into someone you all know, and then POW! everybody has to hug! Now if it's just guys, were fine and good with some hand shaking and weak punches , but with wives/girlfriends it just gets out of hand. Damn I hope I don't sound to anti hugging , for I do like hugging girls

You should be glad that you don't hang out with my group of friends. When you meet people out at the bar or where ever we are hanging out, you hug and handshake everyone when you when you get there and you hug and handshake ever one when you leave. Sometimes that can be like 20-30 people.

I'm cool with hugs, what weirded me out was at the beach a few weeks ago a friend of a friend brought her mom and little sister (who were in town) and when leaving the mom wanted to hug me and then kiss my cheek. That was a bit too much. Silly cougars, though I actually don't think it was her being cougary, she just did that with everyone.

I have to admit, it took me a moment to figure out what it was for but I think I got it. I must say, in the big picture sense, I'm glad for it. The more he does that, the more convinced I become that it just ain't worth it.
