I love Josh Ritter! I saw him in concert a couple years ago and he was excellent. Almost better then the act he was opening for."kathleen" by josh ritter.
what a fantastic totally random find!
Hello Starling is also a great song (especially in spring when the snow melts).
One Duck to rule them all.

I'm the last person on the face of this earth to buy Kanye West's album Graduation. But I finally bought it this morning and have been listening to it (in rotation with College Dropout and Late Registration) all day.
But Love Lockdown has gotten more play on my ipod today than all three of those albums put together. I CANNOT stop listening to it. I dare you to walk down the streets of NYC listening to that song. Just watch all the people step out of your way. Just watch.

you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting

ringing joyful and triumphant
a rich mullins song that is both new to me and eerily familar. I'm wondering if I heard it at his concert I went too.
Hello, old friends.
There's really nothing new to say
but the old, old story bears repeating
and the plain old truth grows dearer every day,
When you find something worth believing,
Well, that's a joy that nothing could take away,
So we meet again.
After all these many years.
Did we sow the seeds we're reaping,
now that the harvest calls us here?
It seems that love blooms out of season;
And much joy can blossom from many tears.
And so old friends.
You must forget what you had to forgive.
And let love be stronger than the feelings,
that rage and run beneath the bridge.
Knowing morning follows evening,
Makes each new day come as a gift

So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

Wait, Josh Ritter? He's from Moscow! That's totally cool that other people know about him. It's funny how local people can become somewhat famous but you never really consider them to be anything other than local.I love Josh Ritter! A friend just gave me a copy of Weezer's red album.
I've listened to the first 5 tracks so far, with Troublemaker as my current favorite.
Now, I've liked some of their songs here and there over the years, so I wouldn't say I'm a big fan and thus in a position to notice, but Rivers voice sounds different in pretty much every song I've heard.

I've had Joshua Radin's new album on repeat for the past couple days. Especially "They Bring Me to You".

"The Sore Feet Song" by Ally Kerr
It's the theme song for Mushi-shi, and it's adorable.

These have come up multiple times over the past few days and I can't get enough of them:
Maria Mena - Nevermind Me
Cartel - Honestly
OK Go - Get Over It
Dion & The Belmonts – I Wonder Why
Dexy's Midnight Runners – Come On Eileen
And Ne-Yo's radio singles in general are getting massive love from me right now (Closer, Miss Independent, Sexy Love, When You're Mad, guest appearance in Rihanna's Hate That I Love You, So Sick, Because of You).

I have the Song that Never Ends stuck in my head.
It just goes on and on, my friend.
Some people started singing it, not knowing what it was!
And they'll continue singing it forever, just because...
Also, Alea, "Come On, Eileen" was decided to be the song that would play for five second every time I entered a room, if the world worked so that a specific song would play every time someone entered a room.

I have recently discovered Death Cab, via Postal Service. I only listen to CDs while driving but I was listening to Plans non-stop for a few weeks, then got Transatlanticism and have been listening to that for a couple weeks. I just ordered the newest one, Narrow Stairs and can't wait. I don't think I own three CDs by any other band. I only own maybe 20 CDs total...pathetic, I know. My brother and I balance each other out, since he owns literally thousands.

Have I mentioned that I occasionally want to call you 'jefe' (boss) instead of Jeff, because that is what I call people named Jeff when I want to pretend I'm more of a Chicana than I am? Just an FYI.
Explain why? I mean, I love that song, but there has to be some reason. Maybe? Also, Alea, "Come On, Eileen" was decided to be the song that would play for five second every time I entered a room, if the world worked so that a specific song would play every time someone entered a room.

Tons of people do it, like my brother, so I'm a-okay with it.Have I mentioned that I occasionally want to call you 'jefe' (boss) instead of Jeff, because that is what I call people named Jeff when I want to pretend I'm more of a Chicana than I am? Just an FYI.
As for the song, it really had nothing to do with the lyrical content or anything, more the Irish sound and the fact that it's an 80's song. I had a bit of an obsession with 80's music in high school, and it was apparently quite characteristic.
And no jokes from anyone who actually was in high school during the 80's: that's just cheating.

Sh-Boom, performed by The Crew Cuts. (Part of it plays during Clue, the movie.) This was constantly in my head yesterday for some reason... kept repeating the only two lines I knew over and over.
