Dear body,

I'm not sure what's up with the recent worsening of the restless leg syndrome, aka, the "jimmy legs", but I would appreciate it if you guys could just calm down.

Also, I know this neck and shoulder muscle weakness and pain is from the botox but if it could go away soon, that would be great.

Restless Leg is the WORST! I used to laugh at the commercials about it until I experienced it when I was nursing Tyler and while pregnant with Brayden. Lots of teary, sleepless nights. It's horrible.

Fortunately, I don't get it in bed or while trying to sleep. Mine is worst in the evenings while sitting on the couch. I just constantly have to stretch and/or bounce my legs.

I, somehow, learned to sleep through it. I don't know how, but my right leg shakes constantly when I sleep. People are amazed by it for some reason and infuriated by it with good reason when they have to share a bed with me. I have found coping devices when it acts up when I'm awake, but tough to do that when you are not awake.

Dear Body,
Who has 2 thumbs and need ANOTHER (read 3rd!) MIR of her left shoulder?????
This girl *points to self*
Wooooo.... So my shoulder is still giving me grief STILL, the neurological issues seem to be sorting themselves out but not there is pain and popping again. I went tot he orthopedist today he moved it in all kinds of painful directions and said "we need another MRI to see what is going on in there". It could just be a suture irritating my shoulder, one of the anchor detaching, or a failure of part of the repair. I don't want to jump the gun but I'm mentally prepping myself for another surgery.

Wrong thread but...

Dear Teresa,

Can you please stop having such terrible luck with basically everything? Any one of your recent problems on their own would be more than enough for any one person. All of them is just unfair.

*hug*

Love,
Me

Dear body,

I don't know if this is typical for a 35yo body but you are suddenly making me feel old. Popping/creaking knee when I try to use the basement stairs, along with occasional sharp knee pain. Ankle pain when I walk more than a little bit. Now my thumb joint is hurting more and more, like a sprain but without the sprain. If this is the beginning of arthritis already...well, darn it!

Dear body,

I put you to the test on Friday playing ping pong. Did I manage to pull a Felurian? Only time will tell.
To be honest, I feel like a douche for - though subtly - showing you off. I also feel like its the best plan I've ever had.

Dear Lefty,

I am so very, very sorry I let Tara scratch your nipple. It was stupid of me to hold her like that, but I was trying to keep her from peeing under the bed while not dropping the baby. Please heal soon. Breastfeeding is hard enough, you know?

And your back to semi-proper posture. Woot woot.

Dear Body,

You are not 8.5 months pregnant. You are only 4.5 months pregnant. Please stop torturing me. I feel like crying from the pain. 20.5 more weeks of this will kill me. Please chill, since I can't afford to get the body work done that would fix this.

Dear Body,

I don't know what to do with you.

I feel kind of gross and fat (though, my weight hasn't done more htan flucutate within a normal day's range for the last six months... 137-141.) I mean, I know how to fix it. More exercise, less calories (or, different calories.)

But, it seems fruitless to put a lot of effort into diet and exercise all of a sudden when we're planning to "take the goalie out of the game" in 1-2 months (end of October at the latest.) I mean, I ugess it would be good to have a lower start point for gaining during pregnancy.... but, still.

What Syphon said. :)

Also, never having been pregnant and not knowing much about pregnancy in general, it's not as though exercise is frowned upon from what I've been led to believe. You shouldn't start anything too grueling during pregnancy if you've not been that active before but if you start before, I hear it's not only okay but really good for you and baby-to-be.

I do apologize, however, if I am overstepping boundaries by saying as much. I know how annoying it can be sometimes to hear suggestions or advice or whatnot when all you wanted to do was speak your mind.

Thank you both!

And, Alea, I don't mind advice (unsolicited or otherwise). If I don't want it, I'll put some kind of footnote about just venting or something along those lines.

I should exercise more, for sure. We're getting back to running two to three times a week now that it's cooling down. I keep thinking about getting one of those exercise DVD programs like Body Revolution or Insanity, but I haven't talked myself into the money. But I know that I won't go to a gym. There aren't any super close to my house and my schedule is so bizarre I'd have a hard time making a regular spot for it, and I'm terrible at going if it isn't part of a routine.

Well, for what it's worth, you've looked lovely and not at all fat in the pictures I've seen of you lately, but I understand the whole feeling fat.

I also didn't mean to imply you should exercise more, just that I thought you could even if you're thinking of having a Little Cheese.

I <3 more pweb babies! Very exited for a possible cheddar kitten, or whatever title the offspring of cheese/mama cat will go by :)

It probably is worthwhile to feel good as you can about yourself at the start, as who knows what your
body will do from there? But a healthy start can't hurt.

I hate feeling fat. Ugh. I feel it a lot, lately. Sigh.

What the heck, body. I hate you. Stop it. Stop being sick.

I have been varying degrees of sick for at least a month, now, and I hate it. First an upper-respiratory infection, then stomach flu, and now... now it appears to still be stomach flu, judging by the amount of time I spent in the bathroom yesterday. Not vomiting.

I guess these things have to work their way out, one way or another. I just want to be well again, so I can work out. And also not spend all day pooping.

Body,

Please, please, please get on with this cold so we can get over it before Disneyland! We leave in a week! I don't want to be achy or coughy! We'll be in enough pain as it with, what with being pregnant....we don't need cold to slow us down even more!

Body,

Please stop with the rasping in the throat. It makes it so hard to sleep, and sleep is exactly what I need right now.

Also, abs, please don't detach down there. I know you're split and stretched to the max and it makes coughing a really hard thing to do, but please! Stay intact!

Thank you, though, for taking to the antibiotics so quickly for the other infection. I really appreciate that 2 doses was enough for you to start responding.

Signed,
Momma

Dear Shoulders,

I'm sorry I carried a 5lb bag of flour, multiple cans of soup and 3 different types of fruit in my backpack for 1.5 miles. It didn't seem like it would be all that heavy at the time. Please stop being sore; Arms are okay and they carried bags, too.

Dear body,

What the hell is up with this random fever? I have no other signs of illness just a 99-101 fever (depending on how far I am from my last dose of tylenol.)

Stop this right this instant. If we managed to fertilize that last egg, its due to implant soon. Do not threaten it!

Also, seriously, I shouldn't have to rest after putting on real pants.

Dear Body,

Please don't make me suffer too much for falling down the stairs. It sucked enough in the immediate aftermath.

Also, good job hanging onto and trying to shield baby. You worked so hard to make him, it's nice that you reflexively protect him.

Also, seriously, muscle memory. We've gone down those steps thousands of times. What the hell was that?
