My first thought when I read it was also that it was made up; especially since we had been talking about fmylife.com recently (and how that seemed made up).

Well, the folks with mod hats probably already know, unless the person happened to use a proxy or something to hide his or her identity.

Um, should the mods really be checking up on who makes posts under the Confessions log in?

In any case, I sort of agree with what Mich said before. Supposing it was a legitimate confession, it seems like we're all putting too much of a spotlight on someone who is evidently ashamed and wishes to remain anonymous.

No, the mods should not, as a matter of course. I can't speak for the other mods, but no, I don't know.

As a mod, though, I'm gonna ask people to drop it. Leave whoever it is alone, unless he or she explicitly asks for commentary.

They shouldn't, but they might. I kind of wish there was some kind of rule about this, but I don't know what it would be.

I don’t care if people comment and it’s probably too much to ask that you don’t judge. All that I want is a place where I can let this all out because telling anyone is not even an option.

I saw Him today, but nothing happened. I’m not even sure if he saw or recognized me.
All I could think was that if he had any decency at all he was pretending not to notice me because he was ashamed too.

I got home and I cried. My boyfriend didn’t know what was wrong. He can never know, even if this is what ends us. I’m afraid that one day I’ll be tempted to try it again, if not with Him then with someone else. The guy I’m with doesn’t deserve this. How can one moment of weakness stain a lifetime’s worth of playing by the rules?

My friend and I are being featured as Vendor of the Month on a really big website for our domino pendant necklaces! I'm really excited to be making money, but there's something I need to confess to you guys: The website is TwilightMoms.com.

I know what you're all thinking. But those women spend money, and I want some of it! I'll take all the money from raving Twilight fans that I can!!

Confession: I am operating on the assumption that if I don't turn the page on my work calendar, it won't actually be May.

I like this idea. By that logic I can turn the page on my calendar prematurely and make it June already. :D

I actually do have a working time machine.. Right now it only goes forward, and at normal speed.. but I'm working on an upgrade. >_>

Yeah, I know.. that was bad. Yell at me, if you want to.

Confession: when I got in my car at Trader Joes with a sackful of groceries and upon turning the ignition my car made the 'whaaa-whirrrr-unh-unh-unh' sound that the Delorian makes makes at the end of Back to the Future when it won't start for Marty I really thought that if I hit my head against the steering wheel it would start.

instead it took a tow truck from AAA to give me a jump. :-p looks like I need a new battery.

.... guess depends on the reasons you drink for and the dosage, really. It can actually be beneficial in some cases, as for heart health.

 I don't mean to drink because of a health problem...more of a social problem. :)
And I've never heard of cases where alcohol is beneficial... I'd like it if you could name a few.

Thanks, but I really meant *heart* health. Google it up? Eric Rimm for a clue?

Last summer my parents came and had "a talk" with me while I was eating breakfast, about halfway through summer break. They accused me of being a "free loader" who was sitting on his butt for the entire summer and "taking advantage" of them by talking them into paying for my apartment the following year. When I defended myself by pointing out that the whole reason I hadn't gotten a "real job" was because I was making a good amount of money doing freelance graphics work, they claimed I wasn't doing enough of that. When I pointed out that I was saving them money by moving into the apartment, that I had created charts to prove this to them, they claimed they smelled something fishy. I got over it, so did they, we all live happily ever after.

This year I re-signed my lease for a 12-month instead of a 10-month, both because I wanted to live in my apartment over the summer and because it would lower the lease cost--lower it an amount so that it would only cost $100 more in total than the 10-month lease. My parents refused to pay for the extra 2 months. I said that was fine, even though me living at home in addition to the gas cost of them driving up to help me move my stuff home and back again two months later was obviously more than $100. I said I was planning on getting a job to pay for it. They "harrumphed."

Which brings us around to this morning. I called my mom to tell her Happy Mother's Day and inform her that my gift (something unusual entirely, because I normally get her a card the day before) was in the mail and to expect it in two days. The response? "Well, that's better than most years." The conversation immediately turned to my job search.

"Have you been applying?"
"Yes, all over the place. Craigslist, in-store, on-campus."
"Hurmph. No replies?"
"Only a couple, both negative. But I do have an almost-definite one through a friend, and it would pay about $800."
"That is not much at all."
"Yes, but it would pay for my rent, which is my goal, and the low amount is why this is my last backup."
"Look, you need to find a job that pays better than that. You need to get on it. Apply for more scholarships. You should have worked through the school year."

What she doesn't seem to understand is that the last time I had a job and went to school at the same time, my grades took a serious dip. So low that, if I did it for more than one semester, my GPA would get under the threshold for the really big scholarship I currently have.

So, in summary, my confession: I'm mad at my mom on Mother's Day. How dumb is that?

I almost died in a tornado on Friday; a power line in all its sparkly goodness landed less than a foot away from me, followed by a number of trees (roots and all) crashing down all around me. We've been without power and will be without it for at least a week. (We came here to the in-laws, today, so we can enjoy hot water and non-grilled food for two days before going back to living like the Amish.)

Um, Nerd, what were you doing walking around outside during a tornado? Wizard of Oz should have taught you to not do that.

But, *hugs* I'm glad you're safe and alive. Besides, didn't I agree to live 2 years longer so I would die the same year you did? I'd be pissed if you went back on that agreement.

my folks haven't had power since Friday. My Grandma's power was knocked out Friday as well, but she lives in a rural, remote area, so her power was restored by Saturday evening. No telling when my parents will get power back, Mom wasn't sure if school would be canceled or if the schools would have power up.

I am totally fascinated by Tummy Tubs. Should I ever have a baby, I am totally getting one. Hell, I kind of want to get pregnant now just to have an excuse to get one (not that I would). I have no idea why I'm so fascinated by the things, but I am. Watching the pictures on the homepage of the babies in the tub really amuses me.

Possibly this dates back to when we first brought my baby brother home from the hospital when I was almost 12 and bathing him was such total hell on earth for everyone involved.

Isn't that just a glorified bucket?* If so, I'm starting a competing business and naming them Baby Buckets or Bucket o' Baby...okay, probably not the second one because it'd get confused with edible babies and we aren't Ireland last I checked.

*I ask without having looked too closely at the site.

Heheh -- yeah, it looks that way, doesn't it? But the site has a whole section devoted to explaining why it is far superior to a bucket (non-toxic material, low center of gravity so won't tip over, no sharp edges, etc.)
A glorified bucket? Maybe. I still love it.

It looks like it would be hard to get in there and wash the baby. Also, I can't put my finger on it, but something is really creeping me out about the bucket. Might be that it looks like something someone would ship a baby in if they were to purchase one.

I know, I know, I'm afraid of everything but this XKCD is a big one for me, though I would find it preferable to be left than to have someone stay with me and wishing they were elsewhere with someone else. I should just stop saying I hate guys or that they're stupid and just say that they scare me.
