Wikipedia Article

It comes from the time of day when one might smoke pot, and April 20th became the DAY to smoke pot.
In Winnipeg, lots of people gathered at the parliament buildings to smoke and promote the legalization of marijuana.

My mom still believes that OJ was innocent. She has an elaborate theory about how his son did it and he was being a good father by covering up for him. This topic cannot be brought up among us or much arguing ensues.

One year I was part of the gospel reading on Palm Sunday or Good Friday (I can't remember which). I was one of the readers who speak a bunch of little parts, including the "crowd" who shouts "Crucify him! Crucify him!"

Even though it was a non-dramatic reading of a very familiar story, it was incredibly hard to yell those words.

Going to a bar for the first time. Spanish bar at that.

Any random bar ettiquette I should (probably pick up through socialization, but I'd rather) know ahead of time?

Well, the prospect of straight teeth is an exciting thing. How long are you stuck with them for?

My brother apparently brought cookies home from my dad's. There was exactly one M&M kind left and I wanted it. I opened the bag, reached for it, and caught a whiff of what smelled like the lovely formaldehyde + super-slowly decaying squid combo from sophomore year of high school. I ate the cookie anyway.

I'm not exactly happy about it, excited yes, upset, yes, in pain, YES. But I only have to have them for approximately A year. so yay!

I had the best experience you could have with braces!

...

Four years, starting freshman year of high school and ending after I graduated high school. Because I wasn't unattractive enough without them then.

I was good with my retainer until one night the summer between freshman and sophomore year of college. I pulled it out when I climbed into bed and set it on my headboard. I woke up and it was gone (and clear, making it hard to find). Turns out it got stuck between my headboard and my bed but because it was clear, I didn't notice them when I looked there. It wasn't until I actually moved things around that I found them but by then, it was too late. There had been some shifting.

I had braces twice; once because one of my teeth was in the wrong place, and the second time to undo some of the damage they had wrought trying to fix said tooth.

They should have just pulled the darn tooth.

Heh, so apparently work blocks photobucket but not Pweb. Half of the avatars are little red x's. Unfortunately, though, none of them are being stolen by cats. In any case, I don't want to log into my real account from here.

Someone linked me to Empire Avenue, which is an internet game/social network where you trade stocks on people's social network activity. It's stupidly fun to do at work during your breaks, looking for people who (hopefully) have active Twitter or Facebook accounts and buying them while they're still new to the game, or checking your current investments to sell them before they have a dry spell.

Really goofy and fun.

This morning, some demented cyclist with a recorder and no musical talent intruded himself upon my dreams. Then I woke up and realised it was still going. He would ride up (or down) the street making horrible screeching noises, then stop, then come back.

Rei looked out the window and informed me it's actually a wheelbarrow moving stuff from the construction down the street to the skip.

I want to kill the wheelbarrow.

I got a puppy Tuesday, and it had a disease( we found out when we took i to the vet). when he got there, he started having a seizure so we had to put him down or else he would have died a painful death within the next 2 weeks or so

It's probably Alea. Who else would want to buy a house in Chicago?

Um, first, anyone in their right mind. ;) Second, it's not just any house in Chicago...it's the Home Alone house. The Ferris Bueller house was also for sale within the past year and is also in IL. Neither are quite to my taste; I want something less modern (in the case of the FB house) and much smaller (in the case of the HA house). Nice and cozy will do the trick. Third, I don't work as late as those posts are being made and even if I did, Pweb is filtered from any computer I could use, thus making it impossible for me to post. Fourth, I already mentioned above it's you, doofus!

See, I knew as soon as I found out, I would feel stupid. :)

Also - I'd really like to know if it's just the exterior, or if it's the same house they used for the interior shots as well. Cause if it's both, that would be AWESOME.

I really wanted to buy Buffy's house when it was up for sale a couple years ago.

But...but...you can't fire me! I'm the Trump here (in this sense, and ONLY this sense). I fire people!

You're fired for trying to fire me.

Also, you could have denied it was you and then messed with my head as well. So nyah.

(Though, interesting side note, while in CO last year, I discovered Brian also fires people, which is awesome.)

He fires me all the time. Though, since there is no good replacement for me, I'm automatically rehired. :)

If I want to "beat" my record for first view movies in a year, I only need to watch 36 more in the next approximately 6.75 months. I'm currently at 45.

If I want to make 52 books this year, I need to quit watching so many flipping movies. I started out quite strong, too.

If I want to not get hopelessly fat this year, I need to quit watching so many movies, then spending all weekend in bed trying to catch up on my reading. Movement! Remember what it was like to be active? Nope? Damn!

With that said...Blue Valentine, with Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams, comes out on Redbox this Tuesday and I need to see that movie; it's not even a question.

For a full listing of the movies that will be the cause of my eventual demise via laziness induced despair and hideousness, please see 3/4s down on page 3 of the special list making thread.

I swear, if I have children someday, and if I give them regular, plain old ordinary names, I am NOT going to try to cutesy it up by using non-traditional spellings. Particularly not spellings that are so non-traditional that it renders the name completely unrecognizable. Why on earth does anyone think that's a good idea?

I completely agree. And my sister-in-law is one of them. I'm hoping my brother will be able to convince her that her spelling of Caidyn is weird and must be changed. Then again, he's leaning towards Bean since my cousin already took Ender, and I don't know how I feel about that...

I 100% agree.

Though, do you know that the original name of Ashley is spelled Aisling? :)
