I have 60 ready-to-eat (homemade, of course) meals in my freezer.

SIXTY? My god, woman, it's all I can do to keep three or four nights' worth in there.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

I'm just really trying to be prepared for when I'm too miserable to cook so Brian and the kids will be taken care of. I made large batches of some of our favorites like chili, stew, lettuce wraps (minus the lettuce), etc. We have 1-8 meals of each different kind. Now they'll wait until we need them.

We have 2 freezers in our garage. One was a hand-me-down from Brian's mom. The other one we got for free on a swap-shop radio program. The old lady wanted it out of her basement and was going to give it to anyone who was willing to haul it out of there. It really helps in frugal cooking.

I cleaned out our horribly, horribly frighteningly disgusting microwave. With vinegar and baking soda.

Thirteen different species of birds seen in my yard today (no new ones). And only one more to go to reach 100 on my life list! :)

I just got an invitation to speak at a conference in Ravello, Italy about price controls and pharmaceutical drugs.

I had to turn them down. :(

You're officially pro. Too bad you had to say no, but it's way cool you were invited in the first place.

Okay, it wasn't until everyone was like "that sucks" before I read it as "Revallo, Italy" instead of "Revallo, Idaho".

Italy really would be awesome.

I'm sure Idaho is great (Mich), but not the same sentiments.

I hate scheduling conflicts on your behalf. I want everyone to see Italy!

And Jan, I'm totally cracking up over Idaho vs. Italy!

I'm really proud of how this web app I'm building for work is shaping up. I wasn't expecting that from this job.

Also, I think I may be starting to tentatively nest. Maybe.

Thanks!

New triumph: I spoke (at length) on a policy conference panel, today. And then did an interview afterwards.

I could seriously go for some media training, folks. Ick.

The shift lead just informed me that my team is the best of the four at 94% up-time. Conversely, the worst crew - which we've been hearing complaints about for a few weeks now - is only 50%.
