New Deathly Hallows teaser shots *Now with Spoilers!*
The dance... wtf????
I liked the movie, really but...
the dance!!! what did they do that for?
It didn't even cheer her up, and is only a nod to the harry/hermione shippers.
*seethes foam*

I really enjoyed it, it wasn't the boring and depressing thing so many people said it was going to be. I mean, the book was way more depressing.

I don't understand quite the degree of discussion around the dance scene. But that might be because I'm used to swing dancers and we generally don't think anything of dancing with whomever. It's just something enjoyable and when going through a rough time can be a brief break from life. Also, it doesn't have to indicate a relationship beyond not-hating-each-other.

I thought it was sweet! I liked that scene, the break from the tension and heartbreak. It seemed quite natural to me, and showed a break from the usually-slow Harry we know and love.
The bit with the diving under the ice bugged me, too. I think I must ahve blocked it out or something, to have not mentioned it first off! GAH.

It's a non-canonical nod to the wrong ship, the fact that is non-canonical should be enough to deserve years of nerdrage hatred
Plus, the fact that is a break from the tension is actually bad. The tension has to build up, if you give your characters a break, you have to start again all over. It's not as if the characters are going to actually break, unless the author wants them to.
There is a reason we are not shown everything the characters do: characters eat, sleep and take care of their needs and we are not shown that. Only what is needed to advance the plot is shown. If that dance is meant as a way to relief stress, then it certainly needs not to be shown. As JKR did.
Also, it's non-canonical!

Mmm, look at his nubile underdeveloped pectoral muscles with the subtle hint of a manscaped pubic region as he poses with a majestic steed.... I mean... eww, Harry Potter almost naked with a horse!
Okay, okay...I laughed. Just a little bit, though.

The hot topic among my friends right now:
Since when do Harry and Voldemort go cliff diving together? I mean, a shared hobby like that, you'd think Rowling'd mention it at least once...

After watching it the first thing I said to Will was "ummm... I know you haven't read the books but that DOES NOT happen... Is this like a "You shall not pass" type of battle thing?"The hot topic among my friends right now:

Just bought tickets to the midnight showing. I've been trying to get them for a few weeks, but the only ones on sale had been the 3D tickets. (My wife can't see 3D, and I don't much care for 3D in general, so that was a no-go.)
But, sometime between Saturday night and this afternoon, they put the 2D tickets on sale.
Woot!

Really? I had the lenses removes from my eyes as an infant because i had cataracts. I only have one good eye that i use to see, the other one just sits there and looks pretty. And i wasted TONS of money on those magic eye books as a kid and never saw the image. And even I can see the #d in movies. (though some parts on the left edge are s little fuzzy/2dish but i get the overall effect)...(My wife can't see 3D, and I don't much care for 3D in general, so that was a no-go.)...!

Given the current population? That's only moderately romantic in the States and considerably less so in, say, India.Awwww!!! That is so romantic!!Yeah, she's one in a million. (Or something like five million, I think the ophthalmologist said.)
The opthamologist gave her better than Syphon did. Tsk tsk.

I hear it's not so bad if you use the other eye for a jack for the computer link. Get on that!Really? I had the lenses removes from my eyes as an infant because i had cataracts. I only have one good eye that i use to see, the other one just sits there and looks pretty.
I've never found 3d effects to be very interesting; I've always wondered if it's something with my eyes that makes it harder to see, or if the effect is just terrible and everyone else is just easy to impress.
...so you're tellin' me there's a chance!Yeah, she's one in a million. (Or something like five million, I think the ophthalmologist said.)

Less than nine hours to go. I'm kind of freaking out. Please tell me I'm not the only one who is excited for Ron and Hermione to finally get together? I loved their first kiss in the book. They better not ruin it.
I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

Totally excited too! I loved their kiss in the books as well, but they deleted the SPEW plot from the movies, so who knows what'll make her kiss him in the movie!Less than nine hours to go. We don't have a sitter lined up yet, so we probably won't be going until next week. Can't wait!

When my friend Jane and I were geeking out about the release of the 7th book, Jane kept dancing around my office singing "Two more days until [Ron and Hermione] make out! Two more days until they make out!"
