When we were hit with the "inland hurricane" a few years ago, the trees brought up not just the nearby grass, but the concrete, as well (sidewalks, curbs, whathaveyou).

We had the perfect fall day today - crisp, cool, and clear, with lots of sunshine and crunchy leaves. :)

It's been raining a miserable rain for the past two days, and we went very suddenly from "autumn" to "winter". Blech.

Seconded. But I'm not sure if I'd like it as much if it were constant throughout the year instead of limited to seasons.

I like when the rain is heavy, but growing up in Washington will do that to you.

There talking a possible chance of snow this weekend. I know it's really far off, and probably not going to happen, but it's got me all excited. Every time I wake up though out the night I always have to check out my window to see if by some chance it's snowing.

I don't know if it is just how the rain hits the windows/sills in my bedroom or because it was also very windy, but I did not enjoy the rain last night. I usually love getting warm under the covers while there is a good hard rain falling outside, but it sounded much louder than I'm used. Not appreciated during sleepy time, which is most times.

Finally! It is just barely feeling how it should for this time of year. 56F with winds up to 15MPH tonight. If it stays like this, I may get into the holiday spirit after all. Before now, it had really been too warm for me to even pretend to be interested in decorating and listening to the music.

I made the poor choice of going to my cousin's house in Wyoming for Thanksgiving. They're hovering around 0 degrees, with a wind chill that makes it closer to minus twenty.
Meanwhile, back home it's 45. Everything is complete mess as all the snow and ice storm remnants melted, but at least it's warm!

I was really excited yesterday cause it finally snowed, and I thought "Yay, now it will feel Christmasy!", then it rained all night and the snow was gone.

I am not used to this. When it snows, it's supposed to stick around!

You should come down to Colorado for a bit. It's not very far. It's not *that* much warmer, but I'm down here! ;)

Heee -- I remember that feeling.

The other day I was in awe because I checked the seven day forecast, and saw that the weather was getting colder on Thanksgiving -- down in the 30s -- and then, afterwards, it was going to warm back up.

Welcome to my world! Aside from when I've been in Ontario I have seen maybe three white Christamses. One of which was in Winnipeg.

I did think that the east coast kept its snow better than the west did, though.

Is that the second from the bottom? That is a fascinating image; I love following the lines.

The first image makes me think Mr. Tumnus is going to come out for a stroll at any moment and I wouldn't mind seeing that happen, no ma'am, no ma'am.

I meant to tell about my morning. I keep forgetting to take my gloves with me to work and I have to do the outdoor bookdrop. I keep thinking my fingertips are going to break off, they get so frozen and what's worse is it hurts, to boot. It was 42 today. I don't suspect it'll get much colder.
So raise your glass if you are wrong in all the right ways, all my underdogs.

Yep! The lines fascinated me, too, which is why I took it! It's such a weird look, since those trees don't usually grow in snow-prone areas.

And I would love it if Mr Tumnus appeared in our front garden!

What.the.fudgesicle? It's supposed to get into the 80s today and tomorrow. The flipping 80s! In December! This December is all wrong, so totally wrong.

Meanwhile, the Metrodome roof has collapsed. Minnesota stole the little bit of cold we had, I see.

It's snowing (though not super heavy, thankfully) and our complex didn't bother to plow, again. Guess who was up early to dig the car out so his wife could drive to work? This guy.

I have an 8AM final tomorrow, so if it could pretty please stop snowing, I'd be forever grateful. I don't want to get up even earlier than I already need to just to dig myself out and make it to the building on time.

Our winter is sucking, too. We've had flurries only twice so far and most of this month has been in the 50's or 60's. It's horrible! This is Colorado, for heaven's sake!

It's Sunday! Sunday morning, to be precise. And it's...misting? Fogging? Not as nice as a full blown rain but I suddenly wish that it was Christmas day. The weather has otherwise been so unseasonably warm and blegh but this, this would be great winter/Christmas weather.

Can you see the palm trees and the canal behind those houses in the background? Just barely, right? This is so flipping cool.

Man, fog is so cool when it never gets foggy! I'm pretty jealous that you get excited about fog.

Hmm, that sounds passive-aggressive. I'm not complaining that it gets foggy here all the time, honestly. I just recall fog in Idaho being a cool thing, and wish it was still cool.

:)

The last time I remember seeing fog on this scale was December 2008, in San Diego. Before that, the last time we had fog like this here, I was in 5th grade, so it was around 1994. If it's happened since, it happened on a small enough scale to not capture my attention.
