Apparently, I'm Frankenstein's 40-year-old virgin for Halloween this year. I had surgery thursday to replace my ICD generator since the eight year old battery was about to die. I've got a nice fresh scar on my shoulder and my chest is haphazardly half-shaved from where they stuck EKG nodes and other gizmos which makes me look kinda like Andy after he tries to get his chest waxed.
The enemy's fly is down.

Joe (80's cartoon not the movie. i was shipwreck (cuz i didn't want to shave my beard) wife was a super hot baroness, and sister was scarlet. we prefer not buying costumes so we put ours together and i have to say... they turned out flippin' awesome.

As promised, Ginny as a monkey
Me, with Ginny as a monkey. Oh, and a black cat we spotted, very Halloween appropriate.
I'm dressed as...uhm... let's say an Inuit. Even though that's just my winter coat.
This is the first time in YEARS I don't have a Halloween costume, but I just couldn't seem to do it this year. Between the move, the pregnancy and the death of my grandfather, it just wasn't the year for it.

That is pretty cute. I saw the exact same thing, and me and my other friends, that were girls, were like, "AWWWWWWWWWW, how cute!" while the guys looked at us pretty annoyed. but that monkey WAY more adorable than the one i saw.

Kids in little halloween costumes are always adorable! My favorite story involving little kids and costumes comes from my most recent roommate: she was in a penguin costume and her (older by one year) brother was in a tiger costume, they were 3 and 4, and she was flapping around and saying "I'm flying, I'm flying," and he would flap and say the same thing until she got really annoyed and said "Nuh-uh, tigers can't fly!" and he started crying.
We watched it on a really old VHS. It was awesome.
Anyway, I played dress-up two days in a row. Everyone was supposed to dress up for our day-long marathon of Arkham Horror games, but only one other person did. He was Robot Unicorn, though, which made up for it.
And here we are, playing! I could not find a windbreaker that lived up to my expectations, and my hair was orange, not pink. I swear.

As promised, Halloween!
Rei as Browncoat and me as... whatever. Steampunk.
Adorable pumpkin cookies!
Another random person. This wasn't her costume, just random bits from someone else's costume. But it looked so awesome on her!

One of the few pics of me in my costume (red riding hood didn't work out, so I got "dark Alice", or "Malice in Wonderland")
And Phen's, cuz it's awesome.
Oh, heck, why not toss in one of our favorites from xkcd?

I found a couple other pictures that I liked, especially this one here:
Stick 'em up, sonny boy!
I ended up taking a bunch of extra shifts in the last couple weeks of October, and I just plum ran out of time to look for a cheap boa, sorry! I really wanted one, too. Brent's brown coat was the only brown one we had. Let's just say he had a successful smuggling job recently.
Edited to add:
Pardon me, Citizen, there's an old lady who needs rescuing.

The part that makes me a little less proud of my Halloween costume is that it's pretty much how I normally dress. Except this time I've got a toy pistol as a prop and my belt isn't through the loops (gotta have a place to holster the pistol, afterall).

Love the GI Joe. Took me a while to figure it out, but it's been, like, 20 years since I've seen any.

thanks! she's lost about 30 pounds in the past year or so. i'm really proud of her, even if she doesn't realize that she's looking fine as hell. when people compliment her she'll always tell me that it's just the way she looks in those pants or that shirt, or whatever... she means it too. she's a bit funny that way.
now i have to work on getting rid of my post marriage weight gain. i've cut soda out pretty much completely now, and that was pretty much my only vice. so i'm expecting some loss just from that. but holy damn that was a hard thing to cut out of my diet cuz i've been drinking so much of it for pretty much my entire life. harder than it was to quit smoking. crazy.

SO TRUE. I had such an easy time quitting smoking. Granted, there were a lot of factors in my favor--I hadn't been smoking for very long compared to most smokers, I often went long periods of time without smoking, etc--but cutting Diet Coke out of my life? OH MY GOD. The withdrawal, the mood swings, it was honestly insane.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

and the headaches. oooowwwww
yeah, i quit smoking cold turkey after ten years. helps when you got a reason (wife won't date a guy who smokes)
i honestly believe i could smoke one cigarette. enjoy the hell out of it, and not smoke another one. or even buy a pack and not smoke any more besides that. but soda? if i have one, i end up having another and another.

Yeah, I had some awesome stockings and shoes to go with it, but someone didn't get any pictures of them, because someone was too busy playing with a nerf shotgun. Just sayin'.Erica - From what I can see, I am digging on your costume. Very cool.

Seconded. If I can do a double shoot, so can you.Clearly you need to get back into your costumes and do it properly.
