Grapefruit.
I had no idea. I mean, I used to like it very occasionally, but it always just seemed like too much work to cut it in half, cut out the little triangle sections, and spoon on some sugar. It never actually occurred to me one could just peel and eat it like an orange. But D bought me some, thinking they were big oranges, and I peeled one in very dim lighting and started to eat it, thinking it was an orange. I was surprised, but not disappointed. And since then, I have really, really been on a weird little grapefruit kick.

There's another home somewhere,
There's another glimpse of sky...
There's another way to lean
into the wind, unafraid.
There's another life out there...

Ditto on that. Sadly, my favorite beverage.Diet coke. I don't care if it's liquid cancer; I adore the stuff
Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down?
We do! We do!
Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do! We do!
Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
We do! We do!
Who robs cavefish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do, we do!

Lots of things I love today:
New music on my Mp3 player, plus burned a new CD to listen to/sing with in the car. Infusion of variety makes me a happy woman.
The fact that I started hydrating early enough to drown what could’ve been a massive and ugly hangover. I do not remember the last time I was that tipsy, much less on a night before I have to go to work. I underestimated the amount of rum that was in the giant glass of mojito D made for me to sip down by the pool. Also, I was sipping said mojito on an empty stomach. Holy crikies. Woke up at 1:00 AM to go to the bathroom and discovered that any time I moved my head, things started spinning. Woke up at 5:30 for real and felt pretty much fine.
My sunglasses. Straight out of the 70s. Makes me smile.
Meeting and talking to people at the pool yesterday. In the sunlight. I haven’t been outside for an extended period of time in I don’t know how long. Also, I got to play catch with a 16 month old and her rubber duckies.
The fact that I have a grapefruit sitting on the shelf in my cupboard labeled “pending.â€
The amount of housework I got done in an hour yesterday.

Career related epiphanies. Even if they are what a professor who barely knew you suggested in December and you brushed it aside a bit, now you realize, hey, maybe that would work, and it is sort of the indirect culmination of 5 different threads you had always kind of considered.
So don't go worrying about me
It's not like I think about you constantly
So maybe I do, but that shouldn't affect
Your life anymore

Your life anymore

Awesome You are well on the road to being a qualified Red Green Handyman.

The many ways Geography can be used.
Clearly not just cartography; it's about the people as much as (or more than) the physical space.
It's not exactly science but it is fascinating stuff.

It's like someone saying, "who ya gonna call?" It's actually scary how deeply ingrained stuff from childhood is. Particularly cartoons.
