It's snowing here! And sort of sticking. Pretty eventful for us!

But we don't really know how to handle it, as school has been delayed tomorrow, even though it's supposed to be in the 50's by then..

Minor bump, but MSP had a record high of 64F today, and I didn't notice. :(

We've had really nice weather lately. Two days of sun, a day of rain, then another day of sun.

During the past 24 hours, we've had fog, rain, warm sunshine, more rain, tornado warnings, torrential down pour and most lately, snow. Welcome to springtime in the Rockies!

We go from two months of almost nothing above 65 to 80 and 90 degree days.

It's over 90 in the house and i've chosen tonight to use the oven.

Gross. I can take heat outside (highest that I've noticed so far this year was 114; it's been unusually cool) but I turn uber-cranky over indoor heat. In fact, I've been struggling to find an acceptable indoor temperature. The way my mom keeps it, between 72 and 76, I'm constantly in pants, under blankets, or making trips outside to thaw out. But 80+ is uncomfortable, so the sweet spot is somewhere between 77 and 79.

It's gotten way better, we put in the air conditioner last night and now it's comfortable 78 in the hotter room of the house. Unfortunately, the hottest room of the house is our bedroom right now.

You'd be comfortable in our house. We keep the central air set at 78 (so it cycles between 77 and 79). We turn it down at night to 75 because I like it a bit cooler to sleep.

It has been beastly hot here this week. In the mid 90s with near 100% humidity. I was in census training all day yesterday in a building with no ac. It was terrible.

Do yourself a favor and find some time and simpson DVDs (or pirate them or whatever). Our apartment started going through them from around season 2 and are on 9 now; they are awesome.

It's going to be 100 degree today. In Colorado. There's something just not right about that. I get grumpy when it's hot. I think I would be at my happiest if the temperature never was over 80.

I think I would be at my happiest if the temperature never was over 80.
I get that the heat isn't for everyone but outdoor heat can feel to me what a bunch of hot towels on a cold winter day feels to normal people: exquisite/heavenly.

It was 103 at 8PM yesterday, so I took a walk and it felt really good. Night heat is better than day heat but I also enjoy walking outside about 2PM and just standing, face down, eyes closed, slow movements. I swear you can feel the heat wash over your limbs the way you would feel liquid pouring over you.

But don't get me wrong; I get a certain thrill around Halloween when the temperatures start to drop. "Winter" gives me the equivalent feeling of falling in love. I don't know how to explain that further, other than to say life feels more exciting. I am, of course, speaking of AZ winters.

What I mean to say is, while I have an ideal indoor temp., I don't have one for outdoors.

I found a white umbrella at work and decided that it would make a great parasol. So today I did not get as heat sick as I have the past couple of days. Because standing on the tarmac in the baking sun with no shade anywhere is less than fun. And a parasol is your very own portable shade!

This weather totally sucks. For the past 4 weeks it's been nothing but hot and humid. My mom won't buy air conditioning because "Theres only 4 hot days in the summer" 90 degrees doesn't sound hot to alot of you( except you Canadians) but for me it's utter death.

I'm not sure why I expected it to be sunny in coastal Southern California. I am totally trying to ignore the fact it is sunny and 80 in Seattle. :P

I'm melting.

The new computer doesn't help at all, since it gets so hot. I've been trying to keep it off for most of the day.

RAIN!!!!!

Finally!

I despise humidity in general. I really, really, LOATHE it when it's humid and hot and sticky for days on end with no rain in sight.

Thank God the heat wave seems to have finally broken.

Portland is in the 90s? Okay, I'll go visit my parents in Idaho. Boise's just jumped into the 90s? Well, at least it's probably cooler than in Portland. Oh, Portland just dropped to the 70s? Sweet, I'm going back.

And now Portland's supposed to be going back into the 90s.

I can not win.

I leave Alaska and it gets sunny.
I get to Georgia and it gets thunderstorms. Note: Don't go to outdoor concerts in pouring rain. Ah well, at least I haven't boiled yet. Though the forecast for tomorrow looks foreboding.

Just like Texas, it's hot over here.
Difference is that there so much humidity...ugh...its horrible.

Airplane got delayed about 3 hours, before I could even come here(Georgia).

It was literally my first airplane ride, where I'm old enough to remember it and am by myself.

I got on the plane, they had us sitting there for an hour. They let us get off, and wait in the lobby for 30 more minutes.

We get to Georgia, and they say we have to circle around in the air for an hour.

Finally, we touch down, and they don't allow us to get off the plane, because the people that help are all cowering inside from the ridiculous amount of thunder and lightning.

So far Georgia weather = sucky

Yeah, I don't envy any of you Southerners/midwesterners/easterners your humidity at all. Dry heat for the win.

Too bad after a certain point, dry or not, you can't really tell the difference between triple digit temps. Today: 116 expected. Tomorrow: 113.

I need to be careful riding home...I've been kind of careless with physical activity and keeping hydrated lately, and had a nice chat with our cabinets on Sunday after briefly losing consciousness. 5 more weeks of super-hot, then 4 weeks of moderately warm, to be followed by the best weather on Earth for 4 months. 8)

ETA: Wow, CezeN, what luck. I've traveled just enough that I think I should have had an experience like that by now (I've had a few hour delay on the way to MN but nothing scary on my end)..I can't imagine on a first trip.

AMEN.

A coworker and I who hale from the same part of West Texas were trying to explain this to another colleague who was trying to tell us that the humidity that day was actually not bad. You just cannot make someone understand who has not experienced dry weather. Finally, we told her that where we grew up, the heat index was usually LOWER than the actual temperature. That made her realize there might be an actual difference in the way it feels.

Moving from West Texas to Memphis was such a climate shock. Every time I walked outside I felt so sticky and like the air was choking me and like I should go back inside and shower.

walking out of the airport in KC this weekend was like walking into a wall. Not a wall of heat, it was a not bad 98, so moderately warm, but a wall of water. 95% humidity is no fun. it was like swimming through the air.

funny how quick I adapted though, but I definitely prefer California. Though it seems I brought the heat back with me.

These cool mornings are great! I can't wait for fall, every break in harvesting or the feed mill finds me in the woods scouting about for hunting and mushroom hot spots. Fall is best! :)
