Don't feed the bezoar! Our good friend Caspian brought it around and I believe it was from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I was having a hard time deciding who I would pick because I have a little time to kill and I'm pretty indecisive, so I chose to put down the name of the person who I had talked to and/or gotten to know the best from each year. However, this made me realize that since the chat died off I really haven't gotten that close to many people who joined after that... Everyone past 2006 I kind of just know who they are and have talked to two of the ones I listed off the board. It's kind of sad. =[

[non-Decathlon post]
However, this made me realize that since the chat died off I really haven't gotten that close to many people who joined after that... Everyone past 2006 I kind of just know who they are and have talked to two of the ones I listed off the board. It's kind of sad. =[

Time to spend post #2 of the day, because I feel like rambling on a tangential topic.

When I stop and look at my history with members, both on and off the board, it surprises me to see who comes and goes, when they come and go, why, how close I get to them, how long it takes, etc.

I get a litle embarrassed/ashamed because I go one of two ways, typically: I click with the person in an instant or somehow otherwise instantly decide they're going to be my friend whether they want to or not, or I can't stand the sight of them, everything they do annoys me, there are on/off-board fights (passive aggressive on my part), etc. until one day, they do or say something that makes me snap out of whatever I'm in and I realize, "Oh, they're not so bad afterall; I was very, very wrong here." There are the rare ones who ellicit little to nothing, either negatively or postively, but I hardly ever become friends with them.

Then there's the "I was more comfortable when I thought you hated/disliked/were annoyed by me" reaction I have with, well, pretty much everyone. I certainly want to be liked but the moment I find out I am, I panic. "I'm not sure what they like about me, given I can't stand myself, so I don't know how to keep doing that so I don't actually become hated/disliked/annoying." I hear that's pretty annoying of me. *grin* I grow out of that stage but it takes some time.

There was a point, last year, two years ago?, when I realized it was impossible for me to keep up with everyone, new people especially, and that the conference calls, group chats, strong bonding days I grew to love with two different groups probably weren't going to happen again. It was depressing to figure out those were probably it for me and then to watch those fade out, but what can be done? Such is life.

It's also probably for the best. Despite many attempts to change who and how I am, I'm not making much leeway; I will always care just a little too much about whatever it is I'm directing my attention at, so if I can go unnoticed, everyone is a winner.

I'm leaving this in here because I feel like it, so nanner-nanner.

[/non-Decathlon post]

On those happy notes, I return this to its regularly scheduled program!

If a few of you wonder why you haven't moved the full red number of spaces on the board, it's because I'm trying to give partial credit. (I'm pretty sure that's the only one that allows for partial; I get creative in a pinch, though, and try to create opportunities for it.)

Not really spoilers but may be construed as advantageous information for those who haven't done this yet:

Because I need to keep this as easy for me as possible, on today's "Class of" statement-question, it was supposed to come off the list in that one thread I won't name right now. I made sure I had at least one person for each year. If you put someone else, I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm saying I don't want to open up anything to double check, so I'm not giving credit.

I have everyone updated up to Mich, who I have updated on my computer but haven't uploaded yet. He -and anyone else who posts today- will show up on the Friday update.

Kim had two litters of kittens that she handed out to various Pwebbers.
Math/logic word problems are supposed to have a part where you ask a question, or elaborate, you forgot it. ;)

Litter One: Ash, big_beans
Catweasel, ferret_guy
Elli, Great Saiyaman
Lily, JL
Miracle, LG
Piewacket, MaezrPaktu
Stormy strokeman

Litter Two: Carwyn, Ekaterina
Gilgamesh, EL
John Michael, Rei
Pantalaimon, thoughtreader
Patchwork, valwiggin
Scooter Virmoli

I did seriously think this was going to be a logic puzzle and I"d have to match coat color with person with cat. such as JL does not have either the orange or the black cat, Lily is the orange cat. sort of clues. :-p

Speaking of Hannah, she's been MIA forever
*sigh* I sent her a message on FB last fall, I think, asking her to come back or if she ever planned on it and she basically said she moved on. She also said/asked a few other things but I was so saddened by the first part I just let the message sit until I got angry; then I deleted it, which was promptly followed by a return to the sadness.

Tell Alex to give it a try, though. He is prettier than me and has a way better accent than I do, and I just know that carries into text.

With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.
