Title: Ewok in Tauntaun-land

Postby Gravity Defier » Mon Jun 07, 2010 7:30 pm

Participants, please make sure I have active e-mail addresses by the 22nd.

Starting this week, 6/9, please look for the PwebArchivist post for task updates, scoreboard, etc. I have asked someone else to take over the posting duties and they kindly agreed, so I turned over the PA name for clarity's sake. Updates will still be once a week, scoreboard will only be once a week now, tasks are still my brain children and thus subject to lameness, prize will still be given to the winner, but I will of course understand if you choose not to continue.

Thanks, folks.

A couple guesses (marked with a questionmark, but really I had no idea whose sigs they were on three of these)

Caspian - Newbie to rhyme with boobie not noob to rhyme with boob

Eaquae Legit – Divide by cucumber error. Please reinstall universe and reboot.

HA? - I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Come a little closer. I promise not to eat you.

ValentineNicole? - Don’t ask me. I’m just a girl

Dr. Mobius - The enemy’s fly is down

Slim - A signature so short it’s slim
So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

The Three Challenge

Nearing the end, guys; thanks for playing so far.

In this task, we're playing a game of Wheel of Fortune, of sorts. Your clue is "Place" and it is Pweb related, naturally. Unlike the show, there is no spinning. Instead, you have the blank puzzle.

If you are able to solve the puzzle without any help, you will receive at minimum 18 points - 1 point per letter (17) + 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 pts depending on how long it takes you to solve. If you solve on day one, you get 7 bonus points; solve on day 7, you get 1 and everything else falls in between. If you need help, the maximum you number of points you can get is 23; you can still get the bonus points (number depending on what day you solve) but you will lose a point from your total for every assist.

You will not guess a letter, you will ask me to reveal one to you and you will specify which letter exactly. For instance, you might want to know the third letter of word two, so you will tell me, "Word 2, Letter 3" or something similar. PM requests for assists to PwebArchivist.

We all know, no peeking at others' answers and you have until Tuesday, June 15th.

I'm actually kinda hoping I'm wrong since it took me all of three seconds to figure out.

I'm going to suggest that this be done entirely by PM, as it'll be damn hard to do it in the thread. I'm upping the PM limit, temporarily to 500 messages to accomadate this (primarily for the Archivist)

I stared at it for awhile, got a clue and then felt stupid for not seeing it.

Milagre Town Square I was a bit baffled until I noticed the "place" category. Incidentally, Jan, it's really hard not to see your answer - might want to change the colour.

Apologies for not responding to PMs outside of those needing assistance. I had this whole thing typed out about work conditions but who cares, the point is, I'm keeping on top of things as much as I can, so post here or send a PM, either is fine.

Scoreboard is updated to last night, is up further up the page and in the opening post of the thread. I also moved a copy of the task to the opening post last night, to try to help those who may be confused.

Next week should be less hectic (fewer programs at work), so I might be able to swing a midnight posting in the original thread. If not, it'll be on this page again. We'll see.

Can I do the ones I've missed? I don't really care about winning, but I'm kinda curious where I'd rank on the scoreboard if I had been around for the whole thing. And besides, they look like fun.

I don't mind being the Barry Bonds of Pweb with an asterisk next to my score. :P

P Column!

Canadian Alliance

Two Stars

Bonito, Jota, Yebra

(I have to use aim mail to get on because there's no aim on this computer, so there's no time stamp, but I'm sure Wil would vouch for me!) This was at 11:20ish AM petraarkanian91: I'm IMing you! Wil: Whoa. Whoa whoa whoa. Hey there! haha

Salaam

For an extra, Pwebchat battle cry "ZOO SEX !!!" The first time I got in the chat, that was so intimidating...

Second row, from left to right:

1. 2 stars
2. Jason (neo-dragon)
3. http://www.philoticweb.net/phpBB2/viewt ... 1815#91815
4. KillEvilBanned
5. Club Philote

Extra answer: Official drink of Pweb is Limeaid

And without really trying I could have answered 12 additional boxes. :)

It shows how many years it's been since I have used IM or chat as those were the two that I knew I couldn't do/guess at all. :?

Aww, thanks, Ali. Honestly, the reason I gave up chatting was because I can't seem to do it in moderation. I'm like a former addict. AIM once took up so much of my life that I let important things fall into neglect. So, I had to make myself give it up all together and stick to the forum, pms and emails.
