you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Janet Jackson - Son of a Gun (I Betcha Think This Song is About You) Remix feat. Missy Elliot and Carly Simon.

so, once, this song, along with a few others, got me through the worst week of college finals i ever had. i'd forgotten all about it (i don't have it downloaded, nor do i own the cd) until i was listening to "you're so vain" in my room while my roommate was listening to "we run this" next door in his room. now it's gonna get me through today. nice.

[edit] how many times can you listen to the same song in a row?

i'm going on, like, 50.

Nobody's Side from Chess again.

but this time in swedish. the swedish version is by far the most AMAZING rendition of this song out of the five or so official recordings.

i don't understand a single word of swedish. and i don't even care. SO BRILLIANT!!!

Lately for me, it's been "Mad World" from the movie Donnie Darko.
I don't know the artist.

I LOVE that song... I hear that they actually removed it from the new directers cut of the movie tho...

Evanescence...

I took their smiles and I made them mine.
I sold my soul just to hide the light.
And now I see what I really am,
A thief a whore, and a liar.
I run to you,
(And run away from this hell)
Call out your name,
(Giving up, giving in)
I see you there,
(Still you are)
Farther away.

Im numb to you - numb and deaf and blind.
You give me all but the reason why.
I reach but I feel only air at night.
Not you, not love, just nothing.
I run to you,
(And run away from this hell)
Call out your name,
(Giving up, giving in)
I see you there,
(Still you are)
Farther away.

Try to forget you,
But without you I feel nothing.
Don't leave me here, by myself.
I can't breathe.
I run to you,
(And run away from this hell)
Call out your name,
(Giving up, giving in)
I see you there,
(Still you are)
Farther away.

I run to you,
(And run away from this hell)
Call out your name,
(Giving up, giving in)
I see you there,
(Still you are)
Farther away.
Stop trying to be perfect. Focus on being you; perfect will come.

-guster (old stuff, ive not heard any of the new cd)
I like their new CD, but it's not exactly classic Guster... definitely more sticks (as opposed to bongos), and more electric stuff... if you listened to Parachutes and then Ganging Up on the Sun, the only thing that'd tell you it's the same band is Ryan's voice. But it's still good, just different.

And "Mad World" is by Gary Jules -- it's actually a cover of Tears for Fears (never heard the original though). I love that song. :)

As for me, for some reason I am not aware of, I've had "Bungle in the Jungle" by Jethro Tull in my head today.
