Kids these days

Postby Caspian » Mon Jan 25, 2010 10:05 pm

Kids these days want to party in the USA. Back in my day we had to fight for our right to party.
It's not "noob" to rhyme with "boob". It's "newbie" to rhyme with "boobie".

What about all the people that rock and roll all night, and party every day?

Apparently people were once happy just being born in the USA...
It is not the sound of victory;
it is not the sound of defeat;
it is the sound of singing that I hear.

well I asked my friends Jack and Diane about being born in the USA and they said being american kids growing up in the heartland was a lot of life going on, but awesomely normal life all the same.

Additionally, my dock working buddy Johnny was on strike and down on his luck and my pal Geena also grew up on the coast only dreamed of running away. Both are living on prayers nowadays.

clearly the midwest is superior, on the other hand, every visit reminds me I do wish they all could be California girls, as they're just sexier. :)

The difference between the kids these days and the kids back in the day is that when we walked these streets we rode on steel horses.

We walked to school and it rained or snowed everyday. And it was uphill. Both ways.

Kids back then were saying bye to American pie, singing those would be the days that they died.
It is not the sound of victory;
it is not the sound of defeat;
it is the sound of singing that I hear.

I think that for kids nowadays, and from now on, it will be too large a pill to swallow that we did our homework and our assignments research without internet.

Back in my day, I'd get in one little fight and my ma' would get scared and send me to live with my auntie and uncle in Bel Air.

Half of the songs I remember from the eighties, I hear being sung in my head by Alvin and the Chipmunks instead of whoever actually sang them. And occasionally by the cast of Kids, Incorporated.
There's another home somewhere,
There's another glimpse of sky...
There's another way to lean
into the wind, unafraid.
There's another life out there...

Theres too much procrastination that I see with kids these days, thats why I'm always bored, because to allow procrastination, you need later due dates...

Yes, but in my head, Alvin is singing it. And multiple, multiple other songs. Lots of them. And it's the 80s.

Rad = radian, a unit of angle. 180 degrees equals pi radians.

Now the sentence in there makes no sense.

And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They’re quite aware of what they’re going through

....or are we done with lyrics?
It is not the sound of victory;
it is not the sound of defeat;
it is the sound of singing that I hear.

Exactly. He's a circle, an infinite loop of rad. Therefore you can never be as rad as him.

Now when I'd get to school, I'd hear the late bell ringin', runnin' through the halls I'd hear the glee club singin'.

When I'd wake up in the morning and the alarm gave out a warning, I didn't think I'd ever make it on time. By the time I'd grab my books and give myself a look, I'd be at the corner just in time to see the bus fly by...

Not me... I'd wake up in the morning, feelin' shy and lonely, but gee, I gotta go to school.
