Steph, if you don't mind me asking, why are you having a c-section? I assume it's a repeat since it's scheduled, but why did you need one in the first place?
I don't mind you asking at all! When I was in labor with Tyler, with each contraction, his heart rate would drop but would raise back to normal when the contraction was over. After 20 hours of labor and being 9 1/2 cm dilated, his heart rate dropped below 60 and didn't come back up when the contraction was over. My midwife wisely got the OB and rushed me in for a c-section. It turned out that Tyler's cord was coiled in a crown on top of his head and each contraction would pinch it between his head and my pelvis. It was also wrapped around his neck. Without the c-section, I know he would have been severely brain damaged, or dead, depending on how long delivery took. It wasn't my first choice, but I'm grateful that I had a good medical team so that I could have my healthy, perfect baby.
My mom had a c-section when she had us, he only reason I could gather why she did is because there were 3 of us. She also had one when she had my little brother.
How did I not know that you were a triplet? I have triplet siblings 2 years older than me.
