I remember Sliders. I don't have cable, so I guess I'm glad I didn't get to see it ruined.

I watch Red Dwarf sometimes. I really liked that one where time went backwards. Are they making any more?

Anyway, shows I like that no else seems to watch...

Doctor Who -- I know quite a few people here have seen it, but here in the real world, no one seems to have heard of it.

Square One TV -- I attribute all my math skills to this old PBS show. It just had a bunch of humorous skits involving math concepts, and would always conclude with Mathnet: crime-solving mathematicians fight crime using math. It was great. (I was disappointed with Numb3rs, because I thought it would be more like Mathnet.) I hope it comes out on DVD.

As for shows that I liked that nobody remembers - Dangermouse. The Tick (Both animated and live action versions), Arrested Development, and Andy Richter Controls the Universe.
Hey, I remember Arrested Development! It was pretty awesome, from what I saw.

And people seirously haven't heard of Dr. Who? I've only seen a handful of episodes (mostly old ones, before this new revival of it), but it was pretty good. And I usually see so many references to it... but perhaps it's only alive in geek culture, sadly.

Arrested Development was fairly recent and, I thought, fairly well known. It was often called "the most critically acclaimed show that you're not watching". I thought it was great.

I remember when I was about 4 yrs old, cocooned in a blanket beside my mom, watching The V. Good Times! Recently though, I really got into Conviction. Too bad it only lasted one season!

I'm becoming rather fond of Pushing Daisies, and the only other person I know to watch it is the girl who pointed it out to me.

I guess the fact that it was an awesome show that got canceled in its prime, Not to mention the whole "that you're not watching" part lead me to believe that nobody watched it.

I think Arrested Development is one of those sleeper hits. A big dvd following.

Firefly -- I just had to say it. Because, as much as we all love it, it's mostly ignored by everyone else.

Freakazoid! is a favorite. I love my boyfriend, he found the entire series somewhere and burned it to a few disks for me.

They turned 10 Things I Hate About You into a TV Show.

I don't hate it nearly as much as I thought I would.

But I freaking love the movie.

I think it was strongest at the start but I watched up until cancellation.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I've finished the first two seasons but haven't started the third yet.

There is a whole in my life that Battlestar Galactica left which i don't think I'll ever fill with TV. (I do find myself getting angry at the stars again)

Okay guys, I tried to do a search but didn't come up with anything...

Anyone watch The IT Crowd? It's a BBC sitcom about 3 people in an IT department. There are only three seasons with six episodes each. They are all available as instant watch through netflix (or by various other means online). I like it a lot and my husband thinks the first episode of season 2 is the funniest episode of anything ever.

I can't believe I haven't mentioned The Middleman in this thread.

Anyone else seen it?

It was on ABC Family (of all places) for a summer and then canceled. It was brilliant and hilarious.

Everyone should find the DVD and watch it. Or stream it online or whatever.

The last five minutes of the pilot episode of The Black Donnellys is the most epic, jaw dropping, heart breaking television I've seen in a LONG time. The music! The slo-mo! The voice-over! The oldest tricks in the book, but that didn't stop me from crying and gasping audibly and trying desperately not to yell at the tv.

I've only watched the pilot; I'm afraid the rest of the series can't live up to it. But it's only a matter of time before curiosity gets the best of me.

Has anyone heard of Police Squad? they only ever made 6 episodes, but it was the funniest TV show I have seen for a while. It starrs Leslie Nielson, the guy from Airplane!, and is very dry random humor.

I just started watching a show called Mad Men that's really quite interesting. Stories of the booming advertising business in the 50s.

I've also gotten in to watching Flash Forward. It wants to be Lost, isn't as good, but fills my needs till season 6 ;-)

[edit] I'd like to amend my post to exclaim that the most recent episode of Big Bang Theory is the funniest sitcom episode I've seen in a very long time.

Mad Men is AMAZING.

It's extremely well known, though, isn't it? I know it has won nine Emmys and three Golden Globes. When it's on air there are usually several cover stories on it per season, and maybe it's a select slice of audience, but literally every single person I knew in New York watched it.

I've never watched AMC, and their shows never get broadcast on Canadian networks (that I know of) the way HBO shows do. I only heard of it because I read of some of the critical acclaim. I'm glad to know that it being awesome extends far beyond what I've seen, though. Makes me look forward to watching more.

In my opinion, those last few minutes of the pilot were the best moments of all the episodes I've watched.

I stopped watching it and forgot about it till now, but I"m pretty sure the rest of the series doesn't live up to that.

Haven't heard of Mad Men, though.
Totally forgot about Flash Forward, but that's only because I'm still waiting for the new episode. The last one was simply epic though, imho.

EDIT: Oh yeah, there was this hilarious show about God called Mr. Deity on youtube. Don't think many people know about it.

Second season of Survivors is on! NOT the stupid reality show. It's a remake of a 70s show (based on a book, etc.) about a small group of people who survived a plague that wiped out 90+% of the human population in a few days. I haven't seen the old series, but I love the new one so much!

Most of the actors have done a bang-up job, and I find the characters complex and very human. There are two who I especially love, the millionaire hedonist playboy (his first act after waking up next to his dead hookup is to drive through the abandoned streets of London with a big bottle of scotch) and the 10 year old boy he sort of adopts (finds him wandering the streets). Najid (the boy) wonders why Al is drinking, since they're both Muslim. Has he prayed? Why is he such an a******, when he could be a better person? And the relationship that grows between them becomes very sweet and mutual, and it's a delight to watch.

If you get a chance to look it up, do so. The first season is on DVD, and the second is currently airing on the BBC.

I've also gotten in to watching Flash Forward.
I watched the first few episodes. I really liked it and where it seemed to be going but I'm awful about watching more than one, two shows tops, at a time unless I get, what amounts to, peer pressure. Or, unless it's available on DVD; I don't do well with streaming online if it's not one of the two shows I'm following.

If you repeat the following:

"WE EAT OUR MISTAKES HERE!"

"Did you see what they did to the pool? They flipped the bitch!"

"I just realized... I can rhyme g-spot, with g-spot!"

A few times a day, your life will be a bit similar to that in my apartment. Just try sprinkling them in conversations. They don't have to make sense or be particularly relevant.

Oh, and cabbage patch, of course.
