I know I'm probably alone in this boat, but I was unimpressed with tonight's episode. (Everyone else I've talked to insist this was the best episode of the series, yet.) And while I love the fact that it highlighted Dichen Lachman, who is infintely more believable in her role(s) than Eliza Dushku, I just don't feel like everything "clicked" tonight. That said, the saving grace for me was the further development of Topher and Adlai into real, well-rounded characters.

I thought better of Boyd before tonight, though I'm not sure why I did other than possibly mistaking his dedication to protecting Echo for having a big heart or something.

I want to be thrilled by the Sierra and Victor stuff but this is a Joss show...one or both will probably be killed off at some point for no reason whatsoever. But not only am I shipping them, I also think they're the best actors/characters on the show.

Topher was excellent. I love where they're taking his character this season.

Sorry, Syphon, but I think you are alone. While I can't call it the best ever, I thought it was damn good.

I finally got around to seeing Epitaph 1 (thanks a billion, Goat! ) and thought it was fantastic, superb, excellent, [insert superlatives here].

This show is going to get canceled now, isn't it? It probably will, now that I am head over heals in love with it. What a far cry from what it started out as.

In that statement regarding Dollhouse's cancellation, Joss mentioned that by the time the last show airs we'll know what his next project is. The final episodes are next week (?) and there hasn't been any mention of it since. I'm curious...

Dollhouse has been such an aggravating show to watch. Some weeks are horrible, nearly unwatchable, and embarassing to watch if you have anyone over, whereas other weeks are fantastic. There was no consistancy. This has been an issue with Joss for his last couple series', he has this vision of what he wants, and the network (Fox in both cases) has their own vision. I don't know if the fault lies with Joss for not standing up for his vision or not being clear as to what it was, or with the network for meddling. If it is the network, then some level of responsibility must be worn by Joss, as he wasn't successful in selling his show... I don't know, I'm just a little irritated by the whole thing. I had high hopes for this show and more times than not, it didn't come close to reaching them.

I find it unfortunate that Fox killed Dollhouse, but I find it fortunate that they are allowing Whedon to finish the series out and that they killed it early enough that Whedon could go back and change the finale to be more finalizing for the series.

This season, especially the last two weeks, has been exceptionally good. Save for the few boring episodes, I've enjoyed it quite a bit.

Getting back on topic, I have finally caught up and I am still impressed with the TV show. I have ended every show - practically every commercial break - with a "WOW!"

I am not sure how much warning Joss was given; but at the pace things are going now it seems like a lot of loose ends are going to be wrapped up in 2010. I just hope FOX and my cable company comes to an agreement before the show restarts.


As for the cancellation, if TV wants to go to Reality shows and talkshows, then I guess my monthly bills will be a lot less.


Now I am off to bow before my giant golden statue of Joss...

I couldn't agree more. Unlike with Firefly Joss was given ample notice (or foresaw what we all knew was coming) and has been able to wrap everything up. I just wish he began the series with this kind of intensity.

You have killed so many characters I like, it means nothing now. Paul died, Topher died...and I was mostly untouched by it. I will admit, the fuzzy Paul imprinted into Echo made me start to feel something but the whole episode was kind of "blah" for me.

Thinking on it I think budget issues were responsible for some of the story/other issues with the mini-finale the other week, we knew this season was being made on the cheap and for the most part they've covered fantastically, but I think that episode is where it really hit home. How many people apart from Amy Acker did we see who weren't from the main cast? Most of the episode was fighting between our main characters in corporate corridors and that last shot where they panned over the building makes a lot more sense if it was supposed to have been CG-blowed-up. Clearly saving it for the finale, and hey, worth it.

I really liked this weeks, loved it when it just went all out embracing the weird mad-max future - "log off" - brilliant. That Kilo must be walking around with the "mercy" stick just on the off chance she runs into someone who asks her that question is just awesome.

At first I was like WHAAAAAAAAT?! when Paul was BOOM HEADSHOTted, but then I realized I didn't actually really care. Though, I felt.. some kind of sad for Echo when she freaked out to Priya.

I thought that Priya's kid was too Oriental looking to be Priya and Athony's kid, thus I spent a part of the episode going "... is that Anthonies?"... but overall I liked that whole relationship.

I felt so bad for Topher. I thought the inclusion of Summer Glau/Bennett was a really nice touch. I really liked the ending though, and how it ended with him smiling at the picture wall.

I am completely and totally confused about the Felicia Day character and the wild asian girl... are they the same person or...?

As for Paul being inside Echo's head now... all I could think was "how boring is THAT sex going to be?" >.>

having only seen the last two episodes (it's her favorite show) I have to say that the finale Epitaph II seemed like a damn good pilot for a series I'd like to see. Like I want to see that show, set in a f****** up world where everyone's mind has been screwed with and then set back to rights. it's got survivor stuff, post-apoc stuff, scifi stuff, community stuff. Sort of awesome.

I'm sorry that I wasn't there to support it when it was on the air. But I just started season 2. I'm not sure how I feel about Epitaph 1, but optional continuity is fun, in its way. Kind of like how the original pilot obviously isn't canon because it flat-out contradicts a bunch of stuff, but is still interesting.

Yes. Very yes. Dushku was every other character I've ever seen her portray herself as: herself. The rest of the cast, however, was really amazing. After the 5th or so show of season one, the show got super good.

On a side note, yes, to everything everyone's said about Dushku. We have this theory that Whedon is really good at making shows where you love all of the side characters but the main character is kind of blah, or at least less interesting. Evidence: Buffy and Dollhouse. Evidence against: Dr. Horrible and Firefly.
