Re: The Non-To-Do-List List Thread
the first and last are probably in the dangerous book for girls the second and third are in, iirc, the dangerous book for boys.A place for those who like to make lists just for the hell of it.
5 Trivial Things I Want To Learn How To Do
*Finger whistle
*Burp on command
*Snap a towel
*Open a Starburst with my mouth
*Double Dutch (jump rope)
THE DANGEROUS BOOK FOR BOYS is amazing. THE DARING BOOK FOR GIRLS sucks. I plan to buy the former for myself after giving it as a gift to just about every guy I know. The latter's glittery cover can gather dust on the Barnes and Noble shelves for all I care.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Thing I'm feeling right now/recently
Tired
This weird giddy happiness that I don't know what came from
Excited for my sisters
Curious what will happen in my book
Tired
P.O.'ed that I haven't seen many of my friends lately
comfortable laying on my bed a few minutes ago
*yawns* Tired
My contacts are bugging me. I shouldn't wear them to the pool as often as I do.
Dry
Hungry. I had three bugles (the little triangle/cone shaped chips) for breakfast
(one more for the heck of it)Tired

4 Shows I wish would never end:
- South Park
- The Simpsons
- Spongebob (yes, I love Spongebob. Sue me)
- That 70's Show (a little too late for that, but still. Also, while we're talking about that, Just Shoot Me! was pretty nice as well)

Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down?
We do! We do!
Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do! We do!
Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
We do! We do!
Who robs cavefish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do, we do!
We do! We do!

My Top Ten Michael Jackson Songs, In Approximate Order
1. The Way You Make Me Feel*
2. I'll Be There (technically Jackson 5 but he was the lead, it counts)
3. She's Out Of My Life
4. Billie Jean
5. P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)
6. In The Closet*
7. Beat It
8. Remember The Time
9. Smooth Criminal
10. You Rock My World
This was an insanely hard list. Between Jackson 5 and his solo efforts, he made some crazy good music.
*I actually think these songs are sexy. The intro on TWYMMF and the whole feel to ITC.

Things I plan to own eventually:
A real picnic basket.
A couple sets of chop sticks.
An amazing cat condo for my cats (even though they'll probably just sleep near the condo).
A giant heavy duty book case, possibly made out of some sort of dark wood.
A dog (but only when I don't' have to worry about having enough room).
An ice cream maker.
Right now I'm focusing on the picnic basket.

And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

So don't go worrying about me
It's not like I think about you constantly
So maybe I do, but that shouldn't affect
Your life anymore

4 weeks. But I've gotten through 1.5 books on that list + one not on it since I posted...I'm also at least 50 pages into about a quarter of those. Now to just finish them....

Although some of these are much less suited to it than others... videogame music I like to whistle along with/to:
Knytt Stories: Nurykabe - Hors du grenier, Nifflas - Snow Is a Chiptune.
I Wanna Be the Guy: "Chased by Spike and Fruit" (actually the Kirby music), "Megaman Junction" (actually Dr. Wily's music in Megaman 2), "The 10,000Km Journey Beneath the Stars" (actually the moon stage music in that ducktales NES game), "The Palace of The Guy" (actually 'monty on the run' music)
Super Mario 64: main theme, slider, snow mountain, file select,
Super Mario RPG: the mushroom kingdom music, uh... "boss theme 1", "boss theme 2", midas river theme, the pre-geno-scene-music, geno's wood, "margarie margarita".
Battletoads: Turbo Tunnel Bike Race (I'm sure I've heard this a lot when I was younger), Arctic Caverns.
Secret of Mana: into the thick of it, what the forst taught me, did you see the ocean, calm before the storm, leave time for love (difficult to whistle!)
Seiken Densetsu 3: nuclear fusion, frenzy, powell.
Final Fantasy V: clash on the big bridge.
Final fantasy VI: Terra's Theme (or "War of the Magi"? I have it under both...), Slam Shuffle.
Tyrian: Come Back to me Savara, "Gyges, will you please help me", Return me to Savara.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Mystic Cave Zone. (well, actually, "all of them", but mystic cave in particular)
Command & Conquer Red Alert: Hell March.
Chrono Trigger: Kaeru's Theme, Kingdom Trial, Robo's Theme, Delightful Spekkio, Corridors of Time,

My plans for summer break.
1. Take the ACT.
2. Get a summer job.
3. Buy a Phenom II X6 1090T.
4. Overclock CPU to 4.0 GHz.
5. Save the rest of my money.
6. Start the process of narrowing down colleges.
7. -uncertain- Go to the Philippines.
8. -uncertain- Return the day before school.
I'd say it'll be more of having "no life" in other people's perspectives. In my perspective, it's just same-old same-old. Other than a vacation and a job, I'll most likely be holed up in my house all summer long. Social isolation is the norm for me. Meh, at least there's Facebook.

Because it's getting easy to hate everything about my state (and because I constantly update my movies list and dislike having to dig a page or two back to do so):
10 Things I Love About Arizona
1. Monsoon storms - Tucson
2. Slide Rock State Park - Sedona
3. Saguaro National Park - Tucson
4. In the top 5 states for most sunshine a year
5. Taliesin West - Scottsdale
6. Cacti to pine trees in 40 minutes - Tucson-Mt Lemmon/north of Phoenix (sedona-ish)
7. Grand Canyon
8. No DST (except for Navajo nation)
9. Mexican food!
10.Sunsets over the Tucson Mountains and the view of the stars by the Catalinas

That sounds like a great list of reasons. If I visit someday, will you stuff me full of delicious Mexican food while showing me the sights?

I feel the same about my home-land. When you get out of the city, it can just take your breath away.
And on the topic of Mexican food, if you ever go to England, DO NOT go to a "Mexican" restaurant. The one in York has, for decoration: an old football helmet, a Jamaican flag, a poster of Bob Marley, some paintings of northern Plains Indians, and an assortment of other non-Mexican junk. And "spicy" apparently means that someone waved a bottle of tabasco over your food and figured that'd do the trick.

I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.
