Friday night family dinners. D-E-Licious and very fun.
Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down?
We do! We do!
Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do! We do!
Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
We do! We do!
Who robs cavefish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do, we do!

Teabagging, gotta love clueless republicans taking over a libertarian movement and giving it such a loaded name. Are all republicans really former frat boys whose friday night highlight was teabagging the lightweight dude that passed out from too much drink? If I oppose government subsidies for corn ethanol, should I send corncobs to all the republican farm state senators and representatives and tell them to stop corn-holing voters?

and nope, it's not the daily show, it's MSNBC!For most Americans Wednesday April 15 will be tax day. But in our fourth story tonight it’s going to be teabagging day for the right wing, and they’re going nuts for it.
Thousands have whipped out the festivities early this past weekend. And while the parties are officially toothless, the teabaggers are full throated about their goals. They want to give President Obama a strong tongue lashing, and lick government spending. Spending they did not oppose when they were under Presidents Bush and Reagan
They oppose Mr. Obama’s tax rates, which will be lower for most of them, and they oppose the tax increases Mr. Obama is imposing on the rich, whose taxes will skyrocket to a rate about ten percent less than they were under Reagan.
That’s teabagging in a nutshell.

Sorry.
I am quite capable of maturely discussing things of a sexual nature but there's just something about the ToS/hesitance/prudishness of Pweb/Pwebbers in general regarding the whole issue that make me want to act like a 4th grader and just start shouting obscene things when an opportunity presents itself.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the more recent discussion in the Guys thread, not because the poor Confessions fellow is having issues, but because it's being discussed at all with some semblance of comfort (Ed's post comes to mind as being most natural/comfortable, so yay Ed!).
I lurk at a Hatrack satellite forum -that I'm too chicken to join for other reasons- and I appreciate that they can have a whole thread dedicated to sex and related issues and there isn't this 'Keep it hidden' mentality. It's just there and it's interesting but no big deal. Pweb gives off the impression, to me, of being ashamed/embarrassed/uncomfortable with open talk of sexuality -beyond some jokes here or there- and that makes me a little sad. Of course, their forum isn't considered a family friendly forum so I guess that makes it a moot point.
Right. *nod*

That just shows you how long it's been since anyone used that word to describe me and to possibly mean something nice/good. I possibly owe you a thank you.

So that, should we keep these for long periods of time, someone can ask why I'm special and I can tell them the teabagging brought it out? I'm thinking no.tempted to make Alea's custom title, 'special'

Hemingway's short stories. I've never read any of his novels, but for the longest time one of my all time favorite short stories has been, "Hills like White Elephants"
I picked up at Borders on monday, "In Our Time" which is a collection of his short stories, I read the first two last night, holy s***.
I'm going to devour this book and reread it lots
Then I'm going to want to make short films from them or like them.
Need to find out if Hemingway is in the public domain or not. :-p

I abhor Hemingway's novels so much. I can't say that I've ever tried his short stories. We had to read quite a few in HS (The Sun Also Rises, For Whom the Bell Tolls, A Farewell to Arms). Mostly what I remember is that they were horribly boring and that he was a misogynistic bastard. It didn't help that some distant great-grandnephew of his was in my class and so I wasn't free to share my dislike openly.Hemingway's short stories. I've never read any of his novels

Pweb's membership was much younger than hatrack's for awhile after it was created. We still are today, I assume, but back during say, early Pweb II days, it seemed like most were under 18 (or at least quite a sizeable chunk). I recall there were some rules (either implicit or explicit) to keep things at a certain rating, since we had/have youngin's here. So these subjects tended to just not ever come up, and that's carried on until today; since no existing ones exist, regulars may feel uncomfortable making them.Pweb gives off the impression, to me, of being ashamed/embarrassed/uncomfortable with open talk of sexuality -beyond some jokes here or there- and that makes me a little sad.

I know.
It only really saddens me because I talk on Pweb about practically everything else and feel like I have to bite my tongue, code things, or just tread carefully if I have a thought that is sexual in any way. In that way, it makes Pweb feel a little restricting but I can always take my questions/comments elsewhere. *shrug*
It's not as though I have anything to discuss at the moment, the boys/girls threads seem to be catching whatever discussion there is to be had, and I doubt it'd get put to much use if we had a thread like that anyway....about the ToS (You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. )

So would you like to get more comfortable with me?(Ed's post comes to mind as being most natural/comfortable, so yay Ed!).
Yeah. I had to do it. But I really do understand your feeling of anxiety (is that the word I'm looking for?) about posting certain things. I just got over it. I am who I am and that's the way I post. And I think about girls and sex a lot, so why can't I post about them because they are both fun. Well girls are frustrating most of the time but they are fun to have sex with. (Well that didn't come out right but I don't know any other way to word it, I hope you get what I'm trying to say.) Not to mention that girls and sex have led to some of the most amazing/awesome/pleasurable/frustrating/embarrassing/awkward/funny moments of my life, so why shouldn't we be comfortable about talking about. This is why I'm not sure who ever the guy is decided to post under confessions. It happens to most guys at one point or another. I can understand about being embarrassed, but I do embarrassing things all time so maybe I'm used to it. (Not that I really think this is something to be embarrassed about.)
Well I feel I am just rambling now, so I'm just gonna wrap it up.

"In Our Time" was my favorite read in college. His writing was so vivid, it just stuck with me for so long after I read it. Even now, thinking about, I don't remember a lot of the story lines (I really need to go back and read them, since I have 2 copies!), but the images are still in my mind. I'm glad you're liking them!Hemingway's short stories. I've never read any of his novels, but for the longest time one of my all time favorite short stories has been, "Hills like White Elephants"

Adam, you know I love you and all, but you've got to remember that not everyone on this forum is a left-winged liberal. You're verging on pretty darn disrespectful to those in this community who are conservatives.Teabagging, gotta love clueless republicans taking over a libertarian movement and giving it such a loaded name. Are all republicans really former frat boys whose friday night highlight was teabagging the lightweight dude that passed out from too much drink? righto steph, consider my tongue firmly in cheek (I thought the cornholing should be a giveaway about that), particularly with that post or most political posts from me (unless they are obviously angry/ranty which I hold back on posting here 95% of the time), if you watch the msnbc video the deadpan humor should come across much more strongly.

so why shouldn't we be comfortable about talking about.
It's really not a source of embarrassment for me, not after the things my grandma, brothers and now my mother and I have talked about (though I stick to my feelings that talking to and actually hearing my family members in the act are different <-referring to post in the hate thread from some time ago). It's not even as if I have much to discuss about personal experiences anyway -I can only think of two, maybe three things being funny enough to share- but I'd still worry that, even with something removed from myself, I'd cause some sort of offense that may or may not be voiced.
Maybe that's all the more reason to make a "Let's Talk About Sex" thread, so those who would be offended know where not to go.
Anyway, poor thread...sorry I derailed you for so long.

I'm sorry if I didn't read your post with enough jest. Yes, it finally arrived, but did you remember to stick a fragile sticker on the package? Because it's only been in the lower 70s! I'm afraid it got a bit damaged.
