The names are pretty sweet. And with the amount of people that post regularly anymore, we probably could keep them.

I really should say "Thank you," but to do that I would have to break character and acknowledge that "Launchie" was not really a custom name.

It's a real dilemma.

Hah, I do approve of mine. It's even lowercase! Bravo, bravo. Not sure if I'd prefer 7A 67 (I mean seriously, who actually writes out binary?), or even just a plain 00110000 or 30. But I'm nitpicking; it's great just the way it is.

I added a poll, so people can vote more easily. I'll just tally total yes and total no votes.

They began as an April Fool's event, something fun to shake things up. I did most of them, whatever came to me at the moment, I did more than twenty so it took awhile. My only criteria was that you had posted in Milagre in the last week, Jan added some more to other posters, including some long absent/dead posters. So my main criterion for getting a custom title is that you're an active current poster and Jan's was more for legacy posters, both are somewhat reasonable. I think we'll be open to allowing more custom titles, grandfathering in everyone who currently has one. and letting others request custom titles if they're active enough posters and no longer launchies. These thoughts are merely a work in progress right now and we might rig something up a bit more formal down the road. :)

I love mine, and I voted "Yes!" on the poll. Also, I think that if you wish to change your title you could PM a mod to do it for you once a month or so. That would be awesome.

Oh, and kudos on a great April Fool's Day prank.

I'm very much divided on the permanent custom titles issue. I've been waiting for over seven years to get to the rank of Commander, and now that I'm just 50 posts short it has once again been cruelly robbed from me.

On the other hand, Lord and Savior really seems like it's a few ranks higher.

Though, I do have a request, nay a demand, that the spelling of saviour be changed to its UK spelling.

some forums I've been on let you set your own custom title when you reach 500 posts. On the other hand, I kind of like the idea of it being a special event a couple times a year.

Hmm... I don't know... What if I change my avatar so that it's no longer Huey? Mine won't make sense anymore.

Oh, and newbies will complain about not having one, but I guess we can always tell them that they have to earn it. 8)

Hmm, yes, it might make the more shallow of the newbies just spam posts until they have a high enough number to claim a custom name. Not that some don't do so for Toon Leader or even Soldier status... Of course, it could be a much more arbitrary process. You know, like April Fool's.
