yeah I keep my eyes closed unless I have goggles or I just take a quick peek. also a lot of the swimming I do is in lakes and rivers rather than chlorinated pools. I certainly don't open my eyes when swimming in the ocean either. :-p

With or without goggles? I mean, I imagine so long as you just keep your eyes closed tight while under water and the water doesn't irritate your eyes they should be fine. Also would depend on what kind of contacts also...
Wouldn't work. My only supporting evidence?
"The goggles do nothing!"
Aside from that.. I don't know. I just wanted to throw the joke in there.

All's I know is that if you aren't swimming with goggles, take the contacts out. Chlorine dries contacts. Dried contacts = Bad. Take out your contacts frequently. A lot. And never, ever, ever sleep in them.

Not that anybody asked, but if I needed any kind of corrective lenses I'd just stick to glasses. Something about contact lenses doesn't sit well with me, nor LASIK. I guess I'm just a wuss when it comes to my eyes.

Yes, I don't know if I'd ever get LASIK. They cut open your freaking eye! And for an extended period after the surgery your eyes are pretty much asking to be popped open or whatever because they need to heal. Plus, even after LASIK, your eyes still fluctuate, it's not like they're invincible, so you'll probably still need to get at least reading glasses as you get older.

If someone develops cybernetic eyes, now, maybe.

Well of course your eyes still flucuate. Lasik doesn't correct the problem (your eyes lens' improperly bending the light to hit the correct spot within your eye), they simply "apply" your prescription to your eyeball. As you use your eyes, it can still length and shorten and thus it will change. As far as I am aware, anyways.

LASIK might be an option at some point, but I'm definitely too poor to have it done now.

Indeed, as it was meant!

Well, partially. I also do just hate contacts. I used them for a year or two, after having glasses for awhile. I missed the feel of the frames on my face, and I hated not being able to sleep, and the extremely annoying feeling in your eyes when you've been wearing them too long. And putting them in in the morning is just another thing-in-the-morning I dreaded doing.

Thomas! When you first posted this picture, I thought you looked like the live version of the character Shannon, from Home Movies, but I couldn't find any good pictures of him to link to. I finally got to another episode that has him in it and did a screen capture. Whatcha think?

hmmm, it's hard to tell, I guess the facial expressions are a little similar, but his hairs the wrong color, and I *never* wear baseball caps.

Thanks. I have no idea what kind of cat she is, but she's quite adorable when she's not acting like a ninja and trying to bite your leg off.

I'm pretty sure that ninjas are fairly awesome. And so are cats. And by fairly, I mean pretty much absolutely amazing. So cat acting like a ninja=fairly awesome.

My cat tries to be a ninja:

I was thinking the legging-bitten off thing was the less awesome part of the equation.

It really is a great door though. I have the exact same ones in my house! But then, I think pretty much everyone does. I used to think that they were just the standard around these parts, but this isn't the first time I've seen them in an American home. What's up with that particular door design?

Aww, I thought I was getting a special door when I had that made specifically for my closet...

But, elfprince and Fred: Aww, thanks!

And the whole cat biting off your leg thing is a-okay! You just need to approach it with a different mindset! See, when a cat attacks your leg, you should view it as an act of great affection. The cat isn't trying to dismember you, no! It's trying to say "Hey there, I love you very much. And to demonstrate my great fondness for you, I'm going to dig my teeth into your skin, because that's what a real friend would do."

Aww, thanks! I like to think that I know cats very well, as when I was younger, I would crawl around with my cat, meowing at people. I might still do that, but I'm not sure that it's wise to admit that..

hahaha, I spent a good 15 minutes playing hide and seek on my hands and knees with Zoe (the kitty) today. And then a good 30 minutes playing with kittens on the couch at my friend Emily's house.
Image

also, thank God for Photobooth, though I wish I'd had a real camera on my drive up. My window of opportunity was a solid 90 secs before the glow was gone.

Building a prayer labyrinth in the back yard of my church. I think I ended up totaling around 140 hours.
