Snow. I hate snow.

Love the cold, hate the snow.

Ugh.

weirdo, snow is what makes the cold worth it.

Bonito: hamachi is meant to take care of that issue. you could also just set up portforwarding (you may need to forward your modem + your router)

Thanks for the help, but now the problem is with the game- it says "Cannot join game, mismatch between versions" or something like that when I try to log into my friend's game (and vice versa). Any help? Thanks =)

you both need to install all the updates for the game so you're patch to the same version.

Plot armor. I think I've been looking awhile for stories that lack obvious armor, but it's hard.

Weaver, you were so close, but then threw it all away for just a simple twist. I thought if anywhere would have something like that, it would be a *chan.

I hate it when I write a long post and hit submit only to be told "Common word list not found" and shown "Debug Mode" and then it doesn't look like I've posted for a long time.

That happen to other people?

All the time. Then I obsess that I'm going to double-post, even when I've checked to make sure the other post hasn't happened.

Then I redo the post, hit submit, and find that, yes, the other post apparently DID go through.

I usually go to sleep at 23:00.
Also, my favorite basketball team just lost to our archrivals, a filthy capitalistic team which rules basketball here through throwing lots and lots of money around and through using their power in the league's management. The team that wronged us so many times before. The only team that your desire to beat is stronger than your desire for everything else.
Call me childish, immature, whatever you like, but that's why I hate God at 23:30. Because we lost (and because of the loss, also lost the first place to that team).

weirdo, snow is what makes the cold worth it.
Considerably less worth it when your friend and neighbor backs into your car in the parking lot because he's late for work and didn't have time to scrape the snow and ice off his rear windshield. Also, he forgot you were parked behind him instead of next to him because your usual spot is currently occupied by a pile of snow.

But it's only cosmetic damage and his insurance is paying for everything so I guess I can't be too upset. However, he's never going to live this down.

our snowplow took off about a quarter off a square foot of paint from our 36-hour-old car. Again, thank god for insurance.

:) It's not you guys! I've got a couple friends who do it every so often. For instance, they won't answer or return my calls for a week, even though I know they're talking to our other friends. Then randomly they'll start talking to me again. I've just had 2 separate instances of this lately and it makes me mad, darn it!!

bloody hell. on that note, someone who's been one of my closest friends over the last year started saying "busy, can't talk now" whenever I tried to start a conversation about a month and a half ago, and for the last 3 weeks, hasn't responded to me at all. I have no idea what's going on, and shes at college an hour away so its not like I can just ask her about it in person.

I'm gonna theorize that there are two possibilities here:

1) she had a crush on you (for a long time most likely) and she's finally getting over it.

2) she thought you had a crush on her and she's a bit embarassed to keep leading you on (from her perspective) especially as she's getting new relationships and friends. :-p

or it could just be she's a she and all shes are somewhat crazy to begin with and you haven't a chance of figuring it out. ;);) the solution in this situation is, have a beer and stop fussing yourself over it.

I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't open a can of worms, but I can't help it.

Adam--WHERE did you come up with these two crack pot theories?! Has elfprince (I don't know your name yet. That's terrible on my part. Sorry!) been talking about this friend in other places and I've just totally missed it? Maybe he's told multiple stories about her that would lead you to these conclusions, because while it's certainly not impossible that a crush is involved, I find it ridiculous to deduce that it is based on the fact that she's been "too busy" to talk to him for several weeks.

I am TOTALLY that girl who used to follow guys around (Henry, in fact!) viewing any throw-away scraps of attention as precious. I was completely blind and tricked myself into believing all sort of things as opposed to facing the truth. He accidentally touched my hand while reaching for the tv remote = HE LOVES ME. He refuses to make eye contact = HE IS OVERWHELMED BY HIS EMOTIONS. You name it, I twisted it.

So, trust me, I am no stranger to reading WAY THE HELL TOO MUCH into situations. But unless I'm missing something, those theories are just totally left field.

Not to hijack your life as an example here, elfprince (sorry!), but I have frequently seen guys on here lament their relationships with the opposite sex (platonic and romantic. or platonic INSTEAD of romantic) and bemoan the fact the girls won't or don't give them straight signals. Maybe it's just a case of selective hearing?

As for this particular plight, I totally agree that it SUCKS when friends flake out. Which makes it especially hard to figure out what the problem is, if you can't even pin them down for a conversation. In the past when I've been in those situations, I've just flat-out asked what the trouble was, either in an email or IM or voicemail or whatever. Sometimes people continue the avoidance thing, but sometimes they'll actually fill you in on what's up.

I'm Thomas :) There was a while when I had reason to believe she might have a crush on me, but I'm no expert on reading girls (who is?), and I've been told/observed that her "personal bubble" is a lot closer than most people's, so it very well could have been nothing.

Not to hijack your life as an example here, elfprince (sorry!), but I have frequently seen guys on here lament their relationships with the opposite sex (platonic and romantic. or platonic INSTEAD of romantic) and bemoan the fact the girls won't or don't give them straight signals. I'm really hoping it wasn't romance-related >_< I've been in a relationship for about a year and a half now, so if she did/does have a crush on me, there's not much I can do about it. I just want my friend to actually talk to me!
As for this particular plight, I totally agree that it SUCKS when friends flake out. I did ask, about a week ago, in a Facebook message (inbox, not wall)....no response. And she's been on talking to other people since then. Thankfully there's a meeting on Sunday that I think we'll both be at, and I'm hoping to talk to her there.

Complex and arcane university policy on student absences.

Hi Thomas!

I wasn't so much directing my post at you, mostly I was giving Adam a hard time! Fortunately for me, he's a good sport.

I do hope everything works out well with your friend, though. Having gone through similar awkward periods of silence with my friends (receiving end) I know how much it sucks.
