Ramen Noodles or "I am not the weird one, Alea is"
How do you eat your Ramen (Mr. Noodle, Itchiban, etc. )noodles?
I pour boiling water over the noodles, let them get soft, drain the water, add the flavor packet and a tiny bit of sesame oil and eat (with chopsticks).
This is the normal way, or you can be weird and eat them raw.

I actually had a friend who boiled them and left the water in and added the seasoning. When I made it my way (draining the water then adding the seasoning--there's more flavor that way) he got mad and said I ruined them.
Later, at his house, he asked if I wanted ramen noodles and when I said yes he asked me to make them my way. He said it was better drained--more flavor.

I put the flavor in as soup, and then drain it and eat it as noodles. I can't stand too much of the flavor, but I'm not crazy about soup. Usually, I also put in some of my own spices, olive oil or butter, cheese, etc. Whatever's around. Mushrooms, sometimes. I refer to it as "ramen glop."

O_o who drains ramen???
I'm a ramen soup guy, but crunching on just the noodles is good too....I've had some good salads made with olive oil and uncooked ramen noodles and some other stuff.

"But the conversation of the mind was truer than any language, and they knew each other better than they ever could have by use of mere sight and touch."
I put the seasoning in the water before it boils, then boil the noodles for three minutes and then eat the noodles and soup.
I might also though take the noodles out and stirfry them in a very hot wok with sesame oil for a minute or so, using some of the broth to keep them sticking too much or drying out. then I'd throw some sesame seeds on and eat the fried ramen and dump the remaining broth.
I had an ex who would boil garlic and chopped onion carrot celery and napa cabbage for ten minutes before adding the noodle packet and a tiny bit of the seasoning packet, then you ate it as soup.
My favorite way to eat it, though is from a ramen house... mmm sounds like a good lunch to go pick up. Love getting the big slices of chashu (pork) in the bowl.
my mom makes a GREAT cabbage salad with uncooked ramen (well she does usually toast the crumbled up noodles in the oven to brown them a bit)
I also always eat the crumbly bits of dry ramen in the packet rather than put them in the water. I've also been known to eat the 'bent' side of the ramen brick before putting it in the water as I like the dry ramen too and this gave me shorter noodles and seemed to cook faster.
My brother likes to eat ramen raw, like Alea.
I also blame ramen for helping me get fat, from about third-fifth grade every day I'd come home from school and cook an entire package of ramen and eat it as my afternoon snack.

I picked other, because I eat it both as soup (mainly this way) -where I boil water, cook the noodles, pour the flavor into the bowl, then pour the water and noodles in the bowl over the flavor- and raw -when I want something crunchy, I prepare it by breaking it into bits before opening the bag, then open it and sprinkle the flavor stuff on it, hold it closed to give it a good shake and then voila...instant crunchy, salty snack.

Back in the Scouts we would never eat them cooked. They were a great (or, at least, we thought so) substitute for a trail mix or snack bar. Nowadays I hardly ever get the ramen that isn't in a cup, but, if I do, I try to make it the same way: soupy.

I boil my Ramen, and drain it (mostly). I like a bit of water in there, and I usally don't put all of the seasoning packet in it. I only eat the original flavor--beef is nasty, and I haven't tried any others.
How weird is it that I had Ramen for breakfast this morning?

You can eat ramen noodles without the water??
To be honest, I've never seen it prepared any way other than adding the flavor packet to the water and noodles right after turning off the stove. And I had never heard of it prepared any other way until yesterday, when a girl sitting in front of me informed me that she breaks up the hard noodles and covers them with peanut butter and jelly. This, apparently, tastes like candy. I guess there are more methods than one, huh?

101 Things to Do with Ramen Noodles.
I (when I'm not lazy or sick and just make soup) like to stir-fry my cooked noodles with some chicken or shrimp and veggies, a little bit of the seasoning, some chili-garlic sauce and maybe some coconut milk, if I have some handy. My roommate in massage school said one night, "how come when you make ramen it looks all gourmet?"

You're both crazy.Thank God. I thought I was the only one.I've never had ramen.
Will, i'm sorry but this is one thing that'll have to change.
I cook the noodles and drain about half the water, then add the seasoning. I've had it dry before, it's alright.

When i was in Japan, in the 100Y store, they had ramen for soup packages, ramen-soup packages (that is, the noodles plus the condiments for soup), and ramen for pasta dishes, with the sauce and meat (or fish) included! for these ones, the bowl lid already had some holes to drain out the boiling water.I always seem to see them eaten in a soup-style, though. I wasn't aware people drained them.
Love them!

Wait, I just noticed this... How could you vote against yourself? No wonder you're losing this poll so badly. Even Alea doesn't eat ramen like Alea. No doubt about it, you're the weird one.I picked other, because I eat it both as soup (mainly this way) -where I boil water, cook the noodles, pour the flavor into the bowl, then pour the water and noodles in the bowl over the flavor- and raw -when I want something crunchy, I prepare it by breaking it into bits before opening the bag, then open it and sprinkle the flavor stuff on it, hold it closed to give it a good shake and then voila...instant crunchy, salty snack.

Jan just has selective memory...or I do. I'm pretty sure I mentioned that eating it raw was an older habit of mine and that I mostly cook it these days.Wait, I just noticed this... How could you vote against yourself?
But yes, I'm weird and that little fact really should be a given by now.

This was difficult; but I ended up chooses the unboiled form.
My reason behind this is because I can eat them raw and enjoy eating them raw, unfortunately I normally do not eat more than just a few bits of it before I dump the water in because I am a guy who needs to use the flavor packet. :-p
I then eat most of it soup style.

Although, I am going to have to try it this way.......when I want something crunchy, I prepare it by breaking it into bits before opening the bag, then open it and sprinkle the flavor stuff on it, hold it closed to give it a good shake and then voila...instant crunchy, salty snack.
Serves me right for not reading the thread before posting.
