Corn on the cob
Corn on the cob
Or ... how do YOU eat it, if you don't want to be all "my way is the right way".
It's not "noob" to rhyme with "boob". It's "newbie" to rhyme with "boobie".

I eat it from one hand to the other, but that's just me.

Around the circumference, like you're supposed to. I guess the typewriter method is alright if you must, but my girlfriend is one of the crazies who just takes random bites... it drives me insane watching it. =P

I eat it around the circumference because your face doesn't get as messy that way. When I was little, I did it like a typewriter because that's what I saw most people doing but as a result I didn't like corn on the cob that much because it got butter all over my face (okay, I have some sensory issues!). Then, I got older and realized there was a better and less messy way to do it and it didn't matter if other people still ate like silly typewriters!

I do circumference and still get butter all over my face.
I wish there was a way to eat it without getting it stuck in your teeth. Or getting butter on your hands (which happens even with the corn on the cob holders). Yeah, corn on the cob is not my favorite dish.

I go for the typewriter method. I love mess, and am too lazy to turn the cob as often as that silly "around the circumference" technique requires. Silly people, corn on the cob is supposed to be messy. I do really hate it getting stuck in my teeth. Trying to eat corn on the cob with braces was one of the stupidest things I have ever done.

Apparently, I'm the first and possibly only person on Pweb to hate life and freedom.
I'll eat corn if it sneaks its way into my mouth, but I don't eat it on purpose.
I think Janelle tried to pressure me into eating corn on the cob once but her lovely parents rescued me. If that's not how it went, that's how I like to remember it.

Se paciente y duro; algún día este dolor te será útil.
I eat around the circumference on each end. then I eat the rest like a typewriter. I don't like eating straight across from end to end cause you miss the best bits on the end.
the real question is do you eat corn on the cob with tines (the little things you stick into the end of the corn and hold onto) or do you just get your hands all covered in butter and salt trying to hold onto the corn by the ends.
Do you shuck your own corn or buy it preshucked.

I didn't even know it was possible to buy it pre-shucked. I like the little tines when I remember them. I like it when I actually get to use very specialized kitchen gadgets, it makes me feel all savvy. Most of the time though they just end up cluttering up my silverware drawer and being a general nuisance. And I feel like I only re-discover them just AFTER we've had corn on the cob.
As for eating, always as a typewriter. But, in the spirit of full disclosure... sometimes I'm that loser who just cuts it all off the cob and eats from a plate. I just HATE things in my teeth. I have a love/hate relationship with popcorn for the same reason.

I also did not know you could buy it preshucked. I think I enjoy shucking corn more than enjoy eating it; due to the corn-in-your-teeth phenomenon that has been mentioned. I also own and use the little corn tines. Although, for me, it's more to save myself from getting burned than anything else because *gasp* I don't actually put butter or salt on my cob. Yes, I know...it's blasphemous. I don't put butter on any vegetables (potatoes don't count, right?). I live in an area where corn is grown in abundance and roadside stands sell really good, sweet corn on the cob. That doesn't stop most everyone I know from slathering on the butter and salt, though.

Incorrect; potatoes count. Hmm, which leads me to:I don't put butter on any vegetables (potatoes don't count, right?).
My preferred way of eating baked potatoes is just stick a fork in the potato (whole), and start biting it. I don't know why more people don't do this; it's the best way I've ever eaten baked potatoes.
I would also like to voice my disappointment in the lack of poll options, and pweb's apparent lack of nonconformity. Nobody eats like a knight moves in chess? Or makes shapes like gliders in Conway's Game of Life? Or tries to spell things? No, it's just up/down, left/right, or "random". Psssh.

Generally I eat right to left, but to avoid the stuff in my teeth, I've developed a way of popping to kernels out instead of ripping them.
