Mod-lock because it's freaking 7am and I'm too tired and cranky to deal with this now. Will be unlocked later in the day when I have brain. Do not create any spin-off threads please or I will be very annoyed.
EDIT: Except Alea who is free to continue posting to vent as she wishes. Everyone else needs to chill please.

Thanks for taking care of that, Jan. I have not much more brain now than I did earlier, so it's a relief.

So...today was the big decision day.
Case officially closed. That, however, doesn't make me feel any more at ease releasing the details on a public forum. Here is the deal: I will be giving some facts here, now, but the details will only be given through LJ or e-mail. If you are already friended on my LJ, you've seen little snippets all along and will automatically get the whole story, just as soon as I have a chance to write it all out. If you have an LJ but aren't on my friends list, you can friend me and I'll update it before I post anything (it would help if you sent a PM here and let me know, if you go with this option). If you aren't on LJ or think the friending stuff isn't worth the hassle, but truly care to know what all happened, PM me your email address and I'll do a mass email. If you're simply curious, so sorry.
I'm not making those the only options as any sort of gauge or poll to see who in fact cares, if there is anyone out there who may think that is the case. I am doing it because I trust most of you and think of most of you as an extended family of sorts and will let you be involved in the background now as much or little as you'd like.
The details I can release. Not sure if I've done so already. I was arrested at 2am, April 2nd on 5 misdemeanors. I wasn't released from the jail until 6pm that night. So the whole occurrence took 16 hours. I was called in to the school District the next day, asked my side of the story (though the manner in which they treated me and spoke to me, and my mother the day before when I asked her to inform them and give them a heads up, suggested this was a technicality only) and asked to pick between a resignation and a board hearing, during which time I'd be fired. I chose the former. I had a lawyer by the 4th and by the 5th, I had been taken to the Phoenix area to relax. Impossible for me, let me tell you.
I got home yesterday afternoon, 5 lbs lighter (would have been more if people weren't force feeding me).
I was sentenced to 1 year in jail, suspended. Meaning I don't have to serve time now; I will only have to serve the time should I do something else wrong.
I had to pay $850 to the court (quite lenient, as each misdemeanor had up to a maximum fine of $4,000).
I have 3 years unsupervised probation.
The job I had poured most of my efforts into getting is out of the picture because of the probation.
As far as the judge was concerned, I will never be able to step foot into a classroom again.
The prosecutor would have liked to see new charges brought up, I think, of a more felonious nature. Too bad for him I haven't committed any felonies.
Because this is a first time offense, my record has the potential to be erased, but not until I make it through my probation.
I will more than likely be moving to Phoenix, shortly, because of the pathetic state of the job market here. I could always sign up for McDonald's, I suppose. But, well, my pride hasn't quite been taken from me.
Anyway, I'm feeling like s***. So I'm going to go steal 20 minutes to myself before people start trying to drag me out to remind me that I'm lucky.
I know I am. But it doesn't change things.
Thank you all for your support, all of it; here, IM, PM, email, LJ. It was all very much appreciated. I can't say any of that enough.

*many hugs*
I've been thinking about you all day. I'm glad it went as well as it did, but I'm so sorry it didn't go better.

*hugs* I'm glad you're ok. Things will be better.
Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down?

There ya go. Feel better?

The Makeout Hobo is real, and does indeed travel around the country in his van and make out with ladies... If you meet him, it is customary to greet him with a shot of whiskey and a high five (if you are a dude) or passionate makeouts (if you are a lady).
