Guilty Pleasures and Irrational Irritations
I wanted to make two threads but I thought I'd just combine them into one thread for two compeltely different things.
Guilty Pleasure: One Tree Hill. My girlfirend got me into it. It's another one of those teen dramas, it's corny and full of relationship woes, but I do love it. But I don't think it would be the same without the character of Dan. An evil control-freak who abandoned one son and tries to relive his old basketball days through the other. I think he's actually pretty interesting.
Irrational Irritation: Kirsten Dunst's voice. It just cuts through me. I was kinda disappointed when I heard she was in the new Marie Antoinette movie, 'cause I think Marie Antoinette was a pretty interesting person, but there's no way I'll be able to watch it now.
And just to make it thrice: "pretty interesting". Really need to work on that vocabulary.

Guity Pleasure: Celebrity news. I try not to care about the lives of celebrities, but I keep watching E!
Irrational Irritation: People who open doors for me while getting in the way. I don't mind politeness, but I hate it when people either open the wrong door, or hold it for five minutes while I walk up.

Irrational Irritation: slow walkers. especially if they're in a group and blocking the entire damn sidewalk.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Irrational Irritation: Lies.
i'd say that's a rational irritation sweetie. at least, i like to think it is, since i like to think that not EVERYTHING that pisses me off is irrational.

Is it?Irrational Irritation: Lies.

That makes me feel somewhat better.
Does it make me a bit of a hypocrite that sometimes I endorse lies that bother me?

YES. Although I'm not so sure that that one's irrational, either...irrational irritation: people talking on the phone while i am watching tv or reading.
It's especially annoying when people call you while they're watching tv or reading or something, and then aren't paying attention to you.
I mean, come on. You called me. If you are going to call me, pay attention to what I say.

guilty pleasure: Food Network's "Ace of Cakes" I even skipped CSI to watch it this week. Duff is just hilarious!
Irrational irritation: the fact that the teenager I hire to help me clean doesn't empty the trash or vaccum the floor. I don't pay her a whole lot, so I don't complain too loudly, but it just annoys the living daylights out of me.

Irrational Irritation -- sound of chewing. Sound of styrofoam rubbing against styrofoam. Sound of typing when I'm trying to concentrate. Background noises in general.

Guilty Pleasure: Does being a fan of professional wrestling count?
Irrational irritation: People who take too long to say/explain things. I'm usually concise and able to get a point across in few words. It annoys me when people go on and on, and in the end I'm thinking, "I could have said just as much in a sentence or two."

Yes. If you don't feel guilty about that, you should.Guilty Pleasure: Does being a fan of professional wrestling count?
Guilty Pleasures: Jan watches Charmed, and I pretend to hate it, but secretly I kinda enjoy it. Also, those cheap and crappy canned pastas (especially the Spongebob kind).
Irrational Irritations: I don't like it when people are standing behind me while I'm going through a doorway.
It's not "noob" to rhyme with "boob". It's "newbie" to rhyme with "boobie".

Guilty Pleasures: Tuna Helper [tm]. The cheese one, and only the cheese one. All the others fall under "Irrational Irritations."

It's all just a matter of interpretation.

Irrational irritation: When people claim they're "not telling" some secret, then proceed to answer yes/no questions for no reason at all, and then act all annoyed when the other person figures it out. Apparently they think that if something is a yes/no question, they're always required to answer it.

Haha, to be honest, I actually do that. But only once I've read the seriesin proper order first, and usually a few times. I have toget to know the series really well before i do that. The Ender Saga I read out of sequence quite frequently because I am so familiar with it and know the material so well.irrational irritation-when people read book series outof order! i don't know why it bothers me so much, but i just get really pissed off when i find out that someone skipped a book in a good series or read them in the wrong order.

haha, well that doesnt bother me if you have already read the series, it's when it is their first time reading the books and and they skip one because they have heard it is boring or something like that. like my friend, for example, is reading Harry Potter for the first time, and she heard that the second one isn't good so she skipped it. i then forced her to go back and read it but only after she had read the other books in the series. sorry if i was unclear

I think that I have done that with almost every series of books there is, unless I am turned onto them before all of them have come out.irrational irritation-when people read book series outof order! i don't know why it bothers me so much, but i just get really pissed off when i find out that someone skipped a book in a good series or read them in the wrong order.
My best friend is the same way. My disdain for the order the books in a series are meant to be with is one of her biggest peeves.
Edit: Incidentally, I also read Harry Potter out of order. I read part of Chamber of Secrets before I read The Soceror's Stone. I read LotR and Narnia out of order as well.

Irrational Irritation:
Along the same lines as my previous one.
In Return of the King, the scene where Faramir is trying to retake Osgiliath, and Pippin is singing that beautiful song. I love that scene. Except it keeps cutting to Denethor and making very audible the noise of his eating. That's just icky. It drives me nuts whenever I watch the movie.
