Halloween!
I'm super excited about halloween already, and was wondering about the rest of pweb.
Feel free to discuss favorite halloween memories, pumpkins, costumes, and halloween traditions.
This year, my circle and I are going as Lion King characters. I chose Scar, because he's pretty cool.

They're not letting us dress up at school this year, which kind of upsets me, as they sent me to training on Halloween last year and I couldn't dress up then either.
Basically, that makes Halloween worthless to me because I don't have the energy to go out on a school night. I'm rooting for Christmas already.

I love Halloween! It's one of my very favorite holidays.
My parents are going to be gone this year, so they already made the traditional spudnuts. Yum! That's one of the best parts of fall, is eating fresh made spudnuts.
This year, we are going as Tonks, Lupin, Baby Teddy, and a Dragon. I think it's going to be way fun. We're going to a party at my brother's house with all my siblings and cousins, so we should have a really fun time. I'm way excited that Brian actually has that day off of work, so we can be Halloweeny all day long, and I don't have to take the kids out trick-or-treating by myself! Yay!

I still have this whole Harry Potter costume all set up from Order of the Phoenix. I originally got it because my group of friends always dresses up, and this was the first movie I could actually make it to, but, naturally, everyone chose not to dress up that one time. Money was spent on that costume, and, gosh-darnit, it shall be used repeatedly!
Actually, it's supposed to be a costume of James, but noone can ever tell the difference, anyway, so why bother?

Awesome, Elena!
I'm going as Snow White again, since I already have the costume made.
Though, I've been tossing about the idea of going as the Paper Bag Princessor possibly Paul and I going asMario and Peach
I have work, youth group and a party, so I could do all three...

Re: Halloween!
Because he's just awesome, you mean. Having Jeremy Irons to do your voice is all you need now.I chose Scar, because he's pretty cool.
And while I'm posting links, I'd just like to say that the Bag Brothers Three is an awesome costume that I'd like to be a part of sometime. I don't tend to do the whole Halloween thing, though, so it might be a while.

Jon is going as Dr. McNinja. I'm going to wear a short kimono with knee-high boots. I'd originally planned to go as an angel, but I couldn't get the parts together (stupid amazon).
Step one, take off your shirt. Step two ... Step three, PROFIT!

Someone I know constructed a wearable Weighted Companion Cube (out of cardboard, I think), and was that for some halloween party. It turned out very well, especially for him just making it randomly without any kind of guidance or second tries, to my knowledge.
The battle? Or is there some other Ragnarok?I know I already said this, but I just can't get over the coolness of my friend being Ragnarok.

Yeah, that's kinda creepy.
Left to my own devices, I would have been one of those annoying grinch-houses that turns all the lights off and doesn't give out candy, because I was very tired, and every kid would set the dog off. And I am working tonight, so I really wanted to sleep. But my parents bought goodies and my mom couldn't hand them out and my dad went out and so I got shanghaied into answering the door. I handed out a few in my pyjamas - look, it's pyjama girl! - and then turned off all the lights and went to bed.

I'm on the third floor of a three-unit apartment building. We had no trick-or-treaters, but I do have a bag of candy that I've been working my way through. Buying your own candy really isn't the same as getting it door-to-door, though.

R got off in time to take us (Me, dressed fairly normal; Will, GI-Joe; and Anna, a makeshift kitty) to the mall for a few moments. That was enough for them. Then I went to choir. Heh.
Pics will follow later.

We had no trick or treaters, sadly. Now we have a ton of candy that I'm going to have to eat.
I went to a really sweet Halloween carnival though. The box maze was particularly amazing (excuse the pun, it wasn't intentional). As was my costume.
A 5 year old boy recognized me has Hermione immediately. I love how much HP has infiltrated our society.

I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

Screw your halloween, we Jews have Purim! ^_^
True, we get less candy, but we get it in pretty packages, AND we get 3 days off =)
Anybody got suggestions for costumes? It's in about 4 months, and I don't have a clue. Plus, I desperately want to be a part of this thread

Just thought I'd post a pic of our costumes. Tyler had such a good time, and is in fact wearing his costume again today and carrying around his little candy bucket. Too cute!
By the way, Brayden is actually in costume. He's Baby Teddy Lupin, wearing a homemade sweater that is way to big, courtesy of Mrs. Weasley!

*bump*
I was forced to go to a store last night but made the best of it by carrying a ceramic skull cookie jar under my arm and quoting and improvising (mostly improvising) the Hamlet I remembered from senior year of high school.
We found the skull in the Halloween section, of course, so we browsed the costumes while we were there. At first, the only thing we could find were the costumes for children and to my utter astonishment and surprise! short jokes were made about me fitting in them. We finally found the costumes for adults and they all sucked. Which is okay; I can't afford one anyway.
I would like to dress up this year. I just don't know what as. My old go-to costume (Daria) won't work because I had to throw my boots out after our 6 happy years together.
You guys know what you're going to be, if anything, this year?
