The fact that someday, some newbie will randomly be searching through posts for the oldest of the PWEB posts and find me here as one of the oldbies. Like I used to search for pweb 2.0's old threads.

i agree. i use the edit post button more often than reply to button, and having to wait to edit is a pain.
depending on the software they use, this might be a php fix.
perhaps the addition of a forum for the discussion of TV shows. We have one for books and for movies... of course then you'd have to move all the ones in milagre.

That's because those forums aren't supposed to be about books or movies in general. They're for specific, focused discussions about a single item. For a long time, it was an actual book club, with a book per month or so. Discussions about other books is actually not allowed in the book club, nor are any threads by non-book club mods. I've been forgiving right now, because of the shift and the long inactivity of the club, but only threads by Jani or I are supposed to be in there.

The fact that if I log on on a different computer, it shows me which threads I haven't looked at under my username, rather than on that particular computer. That drove me BONKERS on Pweb 2.0.
Which reminds me, Pweb 2.0 needs a cooler name. Olde Pweb is obviously taken by Pweb 1.0. What are we calling Pweb 2.0? Old Pweb? Pwebistoric?

When a new member in all innocence posts a thread that has been debated five hundred times, there will not be a chorus of jaded oldbies saying, "learn to use the search feature!" At least, not until the number of threads gets onto a second page...

In case no one else noticed, if you go to your profile you can personalize how the date format appears to you. So that way we can all be happy! (I like Month/Day/Year...it's a states thing, I think).

I rather like the e-dating scheme. Today is [ae]16.07.08 (in my time zone, at least).
And M/D/Y makes no sense, for the record. I prefer Y/M/D to it. Or possibly D M Y, with the month spelled out. Like `8 Oct 2006'. There, no ambiguity whatsoever.

I usually go "the eighth" or, "the eighth of October", depending on the context needed. Y/M/D or D/M/Y just makes sense to me because it's either most-important to least-important or the other way around. Seeing M/D/Y, I always forget which one is the month and which is the day. (Which is why I usually spell out the month shortly to avoid confusion.)
