Midnight for me and a couple friends. I'll be dressed up as a dementor again this year. I hope I scare a small child again.

Hehe... my friend's mom is reserving copies for us at Borders. I shall be there in my homemade Ravenclaw costume. I went to 'Hogwarts' (Alnwick Castle) this weekend and bought a wand which I'll be bringing as well.
I did think of something, but I haven't figured out if it's important or if it's just a cool pattern. Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny represent the four houses -- Harry in Gryffindor for his bravery (some may say recklessness), Ron in Hufflepuff for his intense loyalty, Hermione in Ravenclaw for obvious reasons, and Ginny in Slytherin (Bat Bogey Hex anyone)? Not sure what its significance is, but I feel it's not a coincidence. Any thoughts?

i've often heard the theory with ron left out and draco in place instead. ginny takes ron's place in hufflepuff, and draco obviously takes slytherin. this is most often used in fanfiction that wants to somehow make a parallel to the four founders of hogwarts, and generally pairs h/hr and d/g.

really? i think the two of them are safe (especially Hagrid). i think Percy bites it. and i think the last horcrux is the ravenclaw artifact (which i love to think is in luna lovegood's possesion--although i don't actually expect this to happen).
i also love the idea that Regulus=RAB.

So guys... I went to the OotP premiere in London today. I got there around 2:30 and was around the 5th row in the part in front of the cinema, but my friend got there around 10 and got in front. She got to talk to Jo: she thanked her for the books and coming over to sign autographs, got her autograph on a poster she'd made for Rupert, and said she hoped she didn't kill Ron, to which Jo replied with a poker face of stone. That woman must be the most impenetrable person ever, and I love her for it. My friend also got autographs from Bonnie Wright, Tom Felton, Alfie Enoch, Devon Murray and Shefali Chowdhury (Parvati) -- not that it has anything to do with DH, I just wanted to brag.

J.K. Rowling was on a UK TV show where she said that people were wrong in thinking only two characters would die. She said that during the writing of the book she decided that two extra characters would die that she hadn't originally planned to, but that many more characters apart from that would die. She even jokingly refered to it as a "bloodbath".
She also said Harry's story comes to a clear and definite end.

I've never heard of the two characters dying before now. Wow.

Yeah, and also something was mentioned way back about a muggle doing magic. My bet's on either his aunt or cousin.
R (my husband) had an interesting thought as to why Harry'd be wearing the locket and holding something in his hand. He could be sporting all the Hocruxes he's demolished as he fights Voldy, like he's showing him how much he has to lose if he loses to Harry
Dunno.

I almost cried last night because it dawned on me that this is the last one. Yet I'm also excited beyond reason.
I just finished rereading CoS and I kept seeing all of the connections between it and HBP. It really makes me worried that I'm missing some major clues.
I really don't want Ron to die, and I am terrified that he will. *panics*
8 days!!! *spazzes out with excitement*

By the way, if anyone happens to be a fan of Kreacher the house-elf, you can be sure that he plays some kind of significant role in book 7. I've read that he originally wasn't going to be the OotP film, but when Rowling realized this, she told the producers that if they don't introduce him they'd have problems when they get to adapting book 7.

NOT a spoiler
just my predictions for book 7, via Leaky Cauldron (obviously i suck at not going online, and i suck even more at not going online for Harry-related stuff).
the questions were all multiple choice, so keep in mind that i had a limited selection to work with... some of my answers aren't exact, but rather the closest they had to what i imagine...
after the book comes out, they tally them up and see how well you did. i did mine on my lunch break and already know that i answered a couple in ways i wish i hadn't, now that i've given it more thought!
go do one!

i dislike Lucius. But i do like Snape and Draco.
but i don't FANGIRL Snape and Draco. i don't think they're sexy or anything. i don't want to make out with them.
i just think redemptive characters are infinitely fascinating.

it's the fanon vs. canon debacle.
in fanon, Draco wears leather pants.
in canon, Draco would probably CRUCIO you for even suggesting such a thing.
fanon is harmless (i'll even admit to liking bits of fanon!) so long as people recognize that WHILE IT MAY BE COLLECTIVELY FANTASIZED ABOUT BY THE FANS IT IS NOT ACTUALLY CANON.
i love, love, love (and actively ship and gather textual evidence to support) Sirius/Lupin.
but it's fanon not canon. i accept that.

IT'S ALMOST TIME IT'S ALMOST TIME.
i've cut off all my nails, short short short, so i won't be tempted to bite them as i read.
what preparations are you making for HP:DH?
i'm actually a complete ditherspaz right now.

Oh god, that's soooo horrible you got spoiled.
I was watching an OotP video on youtube and I saw a reply to a reviewer -- the video was safe -- that said 'thanks for spoiling the book for everyone!' (but probably with a lot more typos and netspeak), and I scrolled up without looking until I could scroll no more and kept watching it, and quickly x-ed out without even logging out (which I'm anal about). Oh man, that was a close call. That's when I realized... everywhere except pweb, mugglenet, and e-mail are not safe. I even got inwardly freaked out when we went out for dinner in my little hometown and thought maybe my Ravenclaw t-shirt might tempt some jerk to ruin it. I'm still terrified about the airport tomorrow.
*breathes* It will be okay. It will be okay. It will be okay...

I got the book before the statesiders did ... and I even finished it before most statesiders got it... but the limits of the spoilers I was dishing out was the first word.
I HATE being spoiled. HATE HATE HATE ... and I came close a few times, happening on things just after spoilers had been there and removed.
Also, one of my predictions came true. I had a reasonable idea who R A B would be, and I was right.
