Currently Playing (CD/MP3)

Postby Gravity Defier » Sun Oct 01, 2006 2:18 am

Am I missing something or is there really no thread yet for music?

What are you listening to at the moment and really enjoying? It can be a single, a whole CD, different songs from different artists. What's on your playlist?

I'm currently listening to -and not ashamed or embarassed to say it- Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds. My favorite tracks:
"Damn Girl"
"Lovestoned"
"Summer Love"
"What Goes Around..."

Hey, this might be as good a place as any to mention this... what about revisiting the idea of a Pweb cd, Josh?

Evanescence's new CD: "The Open Door"

I especially like "Sweet Sacrifice", "Weight of the World", "Lithium", "Cloud Nine", and "Good Enough".

It's possible if there's enough interest. There will have to be variety though. The whole point of this is to get people to open up to different types of music they might not have considered before.

I also intend to keep it legal and use iTunes again and will keep the iMix under the 80 minute* CD-R threshold, which depending on the length of the songs should be about 15 - 20 tracks. If needed, I'll make it a double album and up the limit to 160 minutes. I will, of course, be burning a few CDs for people who don't have access to the iTunes Store. (Only one I can think of off the top of my head would be Ratey since there is no New Zealand iTunes Store.)

And yes, I know there are other options, however I'm opting for the legal approach, so don't derail my thread with your filesharing crap.

I just bought Carnival by Kasey Chambers and now want desperately to go out and get my heart stomped on just so I feel like I have a right to identify with the title song.
There's another home somewhere,
There's another glimpse of sky...
There's another way to lean
into the wind, unafraid.
There's another life out there...

"Darshannon" Celtic Cross

Probably my favorite song of the new additions to my library. There's still about nine hours of music I haven't listened to yet though, so that could change.

Motion City Soundtrack's "The Future Freaks Me Out" from I Am the Movie.

But it's playing in my head.

Alanis Morissette's acoustic album is on my high rotation

Speifically, Your House and You Oughta Know (I wonder why, eh? :-p)

I want you to know, that I am happy for you
I wish nothing but the best for you both
An older version of me
Is she perverted like me?
Would she go down on you in a theater?
Does she speak eloquently
And would she have your baby?
I'm sure she'd make a really excellent mother

'Cause the love that you gave that we made
Wasn't able to make it enough for you
To be open wide, No
And every time you speak her name
Does she know how you told me
You'd hold me until you died
Till you died, but you're still alive

And I'm here, to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair, to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know

You seem very well, things look peaceful
I'm not quite as well, I thought you should know
Did you forget about me, Mr. Duplicity?
I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner
It was a slap in the face
How quickly I was replaced
And are you thinking of me when you f*** her?

'Cause the joke that you laid in the bed
That was me and I'm not gonna fade
As soon as you close your eyes, and you know it
And every time I scratch my nails
Down someone else's back I hope you feel it
Well, can you feel it?
Stop trying to be perfect. Focus on being you; perfect will come.
