:Spoilers: Book 6, Book 1

I'm really unsure about Snape, whether he is with the Order or with Voldemort. He killed Dumbledore because he made an unbreakable vow (I think that's what it's called?) to Narcissa Malfoy that he would help Draco if he couldn't fulfill his purpose which Voldemort had set for him. If he hadn't killed Dumbledore, Snape would have died from breaking his vow, and then he could not be a double agent (for whichever side he's on), plus most people do value their lives above many other people.

Edit: Also, in the first book, Harry follows Snape into the Forbidden Forest where Snape meets Quirrell. Here, Snape threatens Quirrell about what information he has already found out about the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone. If Snape was on Voldemort's side, then why would he need to interrogate Quirrell about his doings for Voldemort? But then again, why did they have to meet in the Forbidden Forest in the first place?

Me too. Still, I was beginning to think it wouldn't even be released this year, so I'm happy.

I thought one of the release dates was for the 13th of July? Hmm... I guess I'll have to dig up the link and check...

Ah-ha. The movie. Duh. Okay. My bad. Well, that's not TOO bad.

Hmm... maybe it was just speculation that it'd be released on 7.7.07. I found a link:

http://www.hpana.com/news.19200.html
Harry Potter 7 will be released July 7, 2007.

At least, it should be.
then it goes on to say
The book simply can't not be released on 07/07/07. It's too perfect.
I thought it'd be really cool to have it released on the 7th of July... I really like the reasons the article gives, too. Until I read that, I hadn't realized it was all so... well thought out. Oh well. It's being released and that's what matters, haha.

Alas, a fortnight out on my guess. Either way, I feel good about getting the month and year right.

I'm semi-excited. All adoration for Harry Potter has been somewhat dulled by the last movie.

Anyone camping out till midnight to get it?

I'm thinking about it, just to avoid all this "snape killed dumbledore" bullshit.
The Makeout Hobo is real, and does indeed travel around the country in his van and make out with ladies... If you meet him, it is customary to greet him with a shot of whiskey and a high five (if you are a dude) or passionate makeouts (if you are a lady).

you've all heard my theory about the snape - dumbledore thing. (i think peterlocke posted it for me before i joined). In short, dumbledore didn't actually die, and is an animagus, hence the phoenix that harry saw in the pyre.

That doesn't mean anything. I've seen plenty of instances where someone says one thing and then does the opposite. Until the book is out, she can say anything she wants about it and it doesn't have to be true.

I generally trust Rowling not to be resorting to underhanded methods to toy with our minds. She doesn't have to and she knows it. We'll do it all on our own.

if you want to talk book seven death, i'm terrified for Ron. i don't quite believe she'll do it... but i fear it a LOT more now than i did before book 6.

snape's a goner. as is, i think, percy.

I'm willing to bet that Snape'll die either during or after an attempt on Voldemort's life.

I'm not quite certain how Percy'd go, though. Doubtfully bitter to the end, but I'm not certain what he could or would do that would make him a particular target.

Snape... i have the feeling he will die protecting Harry. So he will finally feel that he owes nothing to James Potter. That would also close the circle.

I really like the couple Ron&Hermione... and i also have the feeling death will break that couple. That would suck :(

Percy, i think, would just be combat casualty. he comes to his senses, reconciles with his family, joins the Order, goes out into the fray and... just doesn't make it back.

I'm kind of hoping that he would die in her arms while professing his eternal love for her but it sounds just a little cheesy.

You mean something like this?

Her: "Hush-a-bye, my dearest Ron,
You won't feel any pain
A little fall of rain
Can hardly hurt you now
I'm here

Him: "That's all I need to know"

Her: "I will stay with you
Till you are sleeping"

Him: "And rain"

Her: "And rain"

Him: "Will make the flowers..."

Her: "Will make the flowers..."

[His body goes limp in her arms.]

Her: "grow..."

Ron and Hermione will live happily ever after...

Ron and Hermione will live happily ever after...

Ron and Hermione will live happily ever after...

Ron and Hermione will live happily ever after...

Ron and Hermione will live happily ever after...

If I keep saying it, it'll eventually become true, right? :(

Seriously, if one of them dies... I will plan a trip to Scotland and demand a chat (and by chat I most likely mean going through all the stages of grief in her house).

If Ron, Hermione, or one of the twins dies, I will be miserable for month. If both Ron and Hermione die, or both of the twins kick the bucket, I wouldn't be quite as sad (though I'll still cry significantly). As for Percy, I really don't care whether he lives or dies, or how. He he goes, most of my tears will be for Molly.

I'm definitely going to midnight releases for both the book and the movie.
