You know, it's only when I hear people say things like that that I really feel lucky to get what I do (considering my average work week is 50 hours at least; it's 40-50, not including paid mileage)...

Good luck man. Just don't be like me and be unsatisfied with any amount of money (because it's easy to feel like just about anything isn't quite enough for everything you want.)

thanks!

dap: i have had the benefit of being unemployed for a long period... after that experience, i don't take any paycheck for granted. i figure the only check that will pay for all the things that i want is a lottery style check. but i'm pretty comfortable in the idea that i will never have all the things i want.

Andorbal: i think most people have that issue. the text is awfully small and moves fast. so it's all good :)

Actually, I meant it more to mean that the content of the image was so good that it made me want to read them all. Preaching the ways of proper grammar and spelling is never a bad thing, especially on the internet!

Good luck, blueantoidgirl!

And you know... I think I've been hired for every job I've ever had an interview for! Of course, that's only three in my whole life, but... I think the secret (besides actually being qualified for the job!) is just being relaxed.

Going for a clerk position at Walgreens. Not very glamorous, but they have medical, which I desperately need.

Andorbal- same as my sister. You both suck! I wish it were that easy for me.

I didn't say it was easy! I always feel like I made a total idiot of myself after I'm done with an interview, but apparently I didn't.

And medical insurance is definitely a good perk. I had a job where I had to pay for it totally out of pocket, and it was ridiculous! I ended up quitting and taking a job for about $1k less that had medical insurance fully paid, and I ended up making more than I would have at the first place.

you'll do fine. relax, look them in the eye, don't take too long to answer any questions they ask. it's that simple. find sample interview questions to practice on. there's probably a list online of most often asked questions. i have one printed that i got from school. dress nice and be early. :D you'll get it for sure.

Alright, fine, Good Luck Brain! But in all honesty I like your current job. You know, the one that allows you time to write funny stuff on the internet all day. Now who's supposed to entertain us? eriador? Oh well, all things must end. Knock'em dead.

i don't get to keep this job. otherwise i would. the pay's alright. but i'm a contractor, so no benefits.

other than that i was told late last week that my "services won't be needed after a certain project is done, most likely... oh but don't worry. we'll give you at least 2 weeks notice"

i s*** you not. that is what she said. also, i can't afford to be jobless even a week.

Sorry to hear that :(

I'm pretty lucky. At 16 I've got one of the best jobs I could ask for before I graduate college. $8.50 an hour and doing something I love. It's not a whole lot of work, but it's really nice since my schedule there is so flexible, and it needs to be what with school and stuff.

I imagine myself at a very similar job even once I do graduate college, though the pay will need to be better, and I won't stay there long before I roll out my own company.

Well, I had the interview... I think I did ok, no word on whether or not I got the job until next friday, so now it's a waiting game. I'm not sure whether or not I got the job. I really hope I did, I might have screwed it up at the end.

I hope so! Looks like I may be going back to the closer store Monday or Tuesday for a second interview. The manager was'nt there today, so I'll go back and talk to him. Today I was "interviewed" (he really only asked me one question then talked about what my job would be) by an "Executive Assistant Manager" who apparently didn't know much about what was going on. Anyway, I'm really hoping this works out.

Well, I think I got a job... one I didn't apply for... at a store I hadn't planned on working at. But on the plus side, I start at $8 an hour, which is 75 cents more than the clerk job. w00t!

good luck again BAG!

personally i'm at the follow-up stage. it's been a week now and i have to contact them. right now i'm trying to decide if i should follow up by email or by phone. email of course is preferred by me. the question that matters though is "which way will THEY prefer?" i did send my resume and cover letter via email, so i suspect that an email follow-up would be more acceptable. however, there is something to be said about showing the little extra initiative and calling. (i was responding to an ad in the paper, but have the phone number from the website... i found it while researching the position). if i were to call, i would almost definately ask if they had recieved my email... i don't want to put them on the spot though. *shrug* i'll probably follow up via email.

for a job like this i expect that if i get an interview, it won't happen for at least a month. still, i would really love to hear back from them soon!

i wish it were as simple as looking for a job at walgreens or what have you. need the money though. oh well. we'll see.
