Layout

Postby Fris » Thu Sep 28, 2006 5:33 pm

I set up phpBB on my own server and started screwing around with the template.

Any thoughts? Comments? Willingness to install a new theme?

Pretty. You'll have to go through Ami. She is the only person with code control over the board.

I like the nice happy blue.

Maybe not this layout specifically, but the blue.

I like the nice happy blue.
One of the nicest features about this forum software is the ability to install multiple themes and allow users to pick the one they prefer.

Like it a lot. Ask Dave about it too. I'd have to upload everything to get it to work. Can't do that really until after my deadline Saturday midnight.

What does everyone think?

I like it. I'm not sure whether I would use that theme itself, but I really like the idea of having options.

I'm willing to make changes, if people have suggestions. I'd also be willing to make a less dark version in the future. (Not right now. As it is, I should have spent the time working on this cutting into my mountain of homework...) The point of this one was to keep some continuity between the front page and the forum.

I was considering making a theme to look like the old forum, but that would have taken a good deal more time than I have at the moment. I could make an attempt in the future (Somewhere between a few weeks from now and the time I die), or someone else could try to pull it off.

As long as the background colors are close enough to make invsi-text feasible...

I looked at my version on a bigger screen and the icons look like crap. Why did no one tell me this?

*fixes*

Edit: Alright, I put back in the original icons (with different colors) because the ones I was using (the ones from this style) didn't look very good. At all.

Edit More: Now that I'm looking at it again, on a big screen, this default layout is not bad at all. It completely sucks on a smaller screen, such as my laptop, though.

Edit MORE: Alright, I see why you like the blue, Ali. Now that it's blue. It's a crappy turquoise color on my computer.

I like both. It is nice to have the option of switching, though, in case eyes get tired, or you want some originality to keep forums straight.

Since Amka hasn't gotten around to uploading it yet, and because I'm bored, I decided to tweak with the template a bit more.

If you look near the bottom of the page, I've added all the offsite Pweb groups I could think of. Did I forget any?
