you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells

because i would really like to make today productive. and i know it will be very easy for me to do a whole lot of nothing.
That's pretty much how I feel on a daily basis. Oh, college....

This week:
-do my Problem Set DONE!
-finish ch. 7 of Optimality Theory text Done as much as necessary
-do Question Response on said chapter DONE!
-e-mail my second thesis advisor DONE!
-do that stupid library work sheet DONE!

This semester:
-read Catalan Phonology and pick a sub-topic DONE!
-see if I'm eligible for a research grant
-get my research approved by the Human Subjects Committee (or whatever its official title is)
-find out what recording equipment I need for research DONE - none!
-decide on internship placement - DONE!

*sigh* It doesn't sound like a lot, but I'm still feeling stressed because I know I have imperative deadlines.

- Write a list of things to do for my dissertation DONE!!! SEE BELOW
  • To Do:

    1. Go through my theory. Make it sound. Make it do-able. Cut things out where needed. Employ felt board if necessary.

2.Go through constructs. Figure out which ones require self-made measures and which do not. Make a list of these constructs.

    3. Go through the list one by one and look for possible measures.

    4. Begin writing a methods section for the dissertation.
- Work for a solid two hours on my dissertation
- Assess the results of the work and then work some more.

My reward for writing this list is that I can now post it. The mother of all to-do lists.

1. Show up at school for meeting DONE
2. Write major kick ass organizing for the rest of the semester to do list DONE (I'd post it here but the formatting screws up when I try that)
3. Call Bon Voyage Travel and figure out ticket situation. Purchase tickets if possible today. DONE
4. Pay the rent.
5. Go home and pack for Fargo -- 10/20 minutes DONE
6. Accomplish one other 10-20 minute task from the big list. Preferably dealing with the electric bill, but anything will do.
7. Mail off phone bill.
8. Drive to Fargo -- conceptualize clients in your head. Figure out what you want to talk about in supervision. DONE
9. Supervision DONE
10. Email Marty
11. If no clients/testing today, then read cognitive behavioral books.
12. Spend at least one hour tonight working on something academic.

get the house ready for the introduction of .... drum roll please!
A cat.
R found a cat at the shelter yesterday that doesn't have long to live, and we're bringing him home. Will gets to name him, but if he can't come up with anything, he'll be "Sammy Cat" from Xanth.
