MoZella's album The Brian Holland Sessions.
YES.
YES.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant
well I have snozzed and lost

Yellowcard's new "Southern Air" album. SO GOOD. Also, it just quoted Yoda. "When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes" was alright, but Southern Air is kicking its butt so far.

Re: Currently Playing (CD/MP3)
Despite having tepid feelings about Taylor Swift at best, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is the second song of hers that I've found entirely infectious (the first being "Mean").
I just kind of have a passionate thing for teenagers and overly italicized speech (see: Salinger) and audible eye-rolling. I love it. Like this freaking hilarious spoken section of the bridge:
So, he calls me up and he's like, "I still love you."
And I'm like, I just... I mean, this is exhausting, you know?
Like, we are never getting back together.
Like, ever.
I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

It's even better that I'm 10 days out from my wedding and I am prancing around the apartment in my pajamas, blithely singing "We are never, ever, ever getting back together!" while David looks on in bewilderment.

What a weird coincidence, Adam. Totally thought about that song for the first time in years this morning, when mentally comparing it to Gangnam Style.

Kesha's new single "Die Young."
I don't care. This song is single-handedly responsible for getting me back to the gym.

Re: Currently Playing (CD/MP3)
One of the best wedding gifts we got (and we got a lot of amazing, homemade, funny and gorgeous gifts) was a four-hour long mixed cd labeled "Honeymoon Road Trip" to listen to on our long (longer than four hours) drive up to Grand Marais.
The entire cd is AMAZING. But one of the best songs on it is "Ho Hey" by the Lumineers. I'd never heard it before then, and now suddenly it's on the radio all the time. I heard it in the car on the way to work this morning and just started crying. So many powerful, music-related memories surround the start of my marriage.
(The other song I'm currently obsessed with from that mixed cd is "Sunrise" by Childish Gambino. Ha! My taste is nothing if not eclectic).

I'm pretty sure I Have listened to that song at least a couple of times a day for the entire summer. It really does have a way of bringing up so many good memories for me that i'm still not tired of it months and months later! The entire cd is AMAZING. There is a store that we pass on vacation every summer, near Amherst, MA, called "The Final Markdown" and I always sing this song!

I just heard and am really digging on Karmin's Brokenhearted. Though I have to admit, the use of so many "cheerio"s is a bit off-putting.

You guys (Alea, Zero, Elf) know that radio station I have set in my car that I said I never listen to? I ended up listening to it the whole way home and it was pretty good.

I love it too! The most bizarre part of the video is the creepy old guy holding the baby and reading to him.
