When did you read Enders Game
I was curious when the fans on this site read Enders Game. The age is seemingly debated as to when is appropriate.
"when a school counselor called her in to tell her that the school administration was growing concerned about the fact that Petra seemed to be associating with the antisocial element in the school, she knew that she was truly at home in Maralik."

Re: When did you read Enders Game
I read it within a year or two of it coming out... so my age was never an issue: I was already over 18.
However, I read it aloud to campers who were about 10-12... and I certainly didn't think it was inappropriate. TV and movies and even games are at LEAST as violent, usually even more so.

I was 16.
I think that's a pretty good age to read it at. At the school where I currently teach it's required reading in grade 10.

Re: When did you read Enders Game
I read EG the summer after 7th grade, so I would have been 13. I think that was a good age for me, but I missed some of the depth of the Speaker books that first time around (though that may have had nothing to do with my age--books are a new experience with every re-read). If I were to make it required reading I would assign it to a slightly older age group, probably 15-16, but I would not say it is inappropriate for a younger crowd.
I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

I was 13 when the book came out. Looking back, it was inappropriate for my age. Just like the poster above, a camp councilor gave it to me. Creepy.
