-you create a java program to encrypt emails as seen in ES series and try to get your friends to use it (no luck)
-you practice battleroom techniques in a swimming pool (launching off of knee's doesn't produce enough momentum w/out null G, but go nova worls great with 2 or three.)
-you laugh out loud reading in Silent reading and make it a bit less silent
-you compare everything in your physics class to EG technology

-you have a fake identity on parenting sites as TerresaWiggin (first parent you thought of and the people reading the sites definitely could use some advice, they shouldn't care if it comes from a 13yr old)

When you break out your calculation sheets from your Ender's Game presentation to help you design real-world sets (the rotating stages from Cirque du Soleil's "KA," and "Zumanity," for instance).

When we got the drawings with the designer's initial concepts, one of the guys in our group said, "Steve, I think they've been reading that book you keep talking about..."

(VERY Technical)

(more "accessible") Look for the battle sequence starting at 5:30

Look at the 4:00 (4 minute) mark.

Tell me what that scene makes you think of.

KA opened in 2004. I started working on it in 2002. The "Battle Belts" that allow the performers to spin in air are THE EXACT SAME BELTS THAT THE CIRQUE PERFORMERS USED IN THE PRODUCTION OF THE ENDER'S GAME MOVIE. And though I'd love to claim I designed them, I didn't. I did get to engineer them, though!

Instead, I designed and engineered the "Sand Cliff Deck," and the "Tatami Deck" (the "Kitchen drawer" behind it).

I can totally see where you got that from :)
So cool you got to engineer that, If I ever see the show I'll be curious to see if my dad notices. (He's a big fan.)
Its good to know that the Ender obsession gets put to work neh.

Whenever I have a big turntable project (and there have been a few), I break out my EG spreadsheet!

I had a 22' diameter turntable for Zumanity that was required to spin at 6 rpm. That's 7 feet/sec at the perimeter and 15%G centripetal force--enough to toss a trained Cirque do Soleil acrobat! We tuned it back to 3 rpm...much safer.

Any forum that contains language like 15%G centripetal force is one I want to be on :D

I think we're getting off topic um..

-you expect ridiculously accurate scientific realism in all other sci-fi, and are secretly disappointed any time a movie, book or series fails to take into account relativity.

- anytime you play a strategy game, you ask yourself "What would Bean and Ender do...?"

you know you've read too much EG when...
~when you are bored in class you daydream about Battle School
always dreamed about it
You expect to see genius activity out of any third child in a family.
I do yet my youngest sibling (3rd) is lacking. Welp hopeful for my own kids one day *wishes*
your on this website
No when you troll this site like I do and try to get every new post on the main page to show your name [done 6/1 8:25pm PST :hatsoff:  ]....I know it's an obsession
- When you decide to learn enough about computer code that you can make your own Dragon graphic with a secret message inside.
Oh and I dont get violently angry when someone wont read EG, I just get very frustrated and keep bugging them.
Agreed and they WILL read it!!

And lastly when every time you think you hear an inkling about a EG book or movie you fly over to Pweb and over-actively flood the forum, usually with Calvinball post!! :hatsoff: :evencooler:

Or when you and the one you love <text like this, and speak in terms of "we know how you feel," or "we just want you to know we love you," etc...> when you want to convey something very serious, deep, or personal to eachother.

When your English teacher decides to show a few of the new stils from the movie and plus trailer, then proceed to get into a one sided heat debate with one of your classmates who insisted to claim that the "boy with the blue eyes" and the"" girl with the long hair" are going to kiss and date in the movie. And the last thing you yell before getting sent out is"She marries the genetically altered one and tjen ends up the with the Brother!"

She is. We're reading it in class…well technically the rest of class is reading it. I get an alternative assignment, because "apparently it seems like I'm already familiar with the novel."" And I'm not allowed to be in the room during open class discussions, she's afraid that I'm going to spoil the ending.
