If they handle her correctly, things will come out about her...she's just not a chatty Cathy about it and she is not as token a character as she may appear.

T-Dawg was handled incorrectly if I'm remembering his equivalent character correctly; he had much more of an active role and it went slightly further into the story in the comics.

Since my mom doesn't care if I go on (and on) about the comic vs. tv thing because she finds the differences interesting, I've had conversations with her where I wonder if some of the changes are simply due to medium change requiring it or because some of the comic things are too much for the general public to deal with on their television. It seems the tv show is much more...stunted/tame, preventing bi-racial relationships the comics had, showing less graphic interactions (with the Governor, as an example), etc.

I finished season two of Walking Dead last night. I thought AMC had all the new episodes online, but I guess not.

Now I face the great debate: read summaries and watch the new episodes as they come out, or wait for season three to come out on Netflix? I don't know if I can last that long without zombies...

I am impressed! I didn't think zombies were your thing. :stoned:

The mid-season finale is next week, so it wouldn't hurt to start watching S3 now; you'll be caught up to the rest of us and waiting on new episodes next February or whenever they come out if you stick it through.

Holy s***. Did my eyes deceive me or did they just kill off ANOTHER black man the same episode they introduced a new black man?!?

Also, let's now pray Andrea realizes the governor is crazy.

As a general life rule, you can only have one token black guy in your group.
I wonder if tv tropes has an official term for this phenomenon.

To be fair, they killed one black person and introduced two more...so really, it was a net gain. (Though still disheartening.)

Still, apparently only one black man can exist at a time. And the sum total of their characterization is, "Nice enough guy. Helpful to have around. Shame he died." And I'm not putting any bets on how long New Black Woman is for this world, seeing as we've already got Michonne.

Freaks and Geeks is so damn awkward. I can only watch one episode at a time and even then, I sometimes have to pause it to take a moment away or else I'll, I don't know, feel uncomfortable to death? Okay, not so drastic as all that but it does make me feel highly uncomfortable and kind of grateful that I was a loser in high school and never aimed for higher.

Like, it's awkward because it means to be or the actors/lines are awkward without meaning to?

Because it means to be. Just the whole idea of Lindsay trying to impress Daniel and crew and then her little brother and his friends being so hopelessly adorkable...I like the characters, it's a good show, it's just painful at times.

Listen, Chopped contestants, the truffle oil is a trap! You will not win if you use it - at worse, the judges might spit on you and drag you outside to be summarily executed (well, they'll want to). Have you never watched this show?
Tweeting Food Network personalities in hopes of getting a reply is becoming a hobby of mine. Tonight I asked Alex Guarnaschelli if there is a correct way to use truffle oil that doesn't just ruin everything. Her reply "I have not succeeded in answering that question but I believe so."

I downloaded and watched the third season of Downton Abbey after it was done airing in the UK but before it started airing in the US. So now that all my friends are watching it each week, I have to remember what happened in which episode to respond. It's weird.

Watching the Sybil episode 8 weeks pregnant led to an absurd amount of crying.

I'm still pissed about the finale. Not sad. I was already too emotionally overwrought about Sybil and I didn't feel like the buildup was as well done.

I know I'm, like, three years behind, but I've finally finished Lost! And I liked the ending. It seemed pretty in-line with the entire rest of the series. No problems with it. An enjoyable six seasons, if you did your best to not actually wonder what "the Island" was about and just care about the characters.

The season finale to Community was brilliant; they somehow found a new way to make paintball cool.
Jeff's graduation speech gave me feels, since I know people graduating this year who I may never see again.

I know I've heard people complain about Community going downhill over the seasons, but I've been consistently entertained by probably episode they've ever made. Jeff Winger is one of my favorite tv characters ever(tied for favorite lawyer with Harvey Specter). Troy and Abed. Pierce. Nuff said.

Last week's Grey's (the storm episode)... I'm only a couple minutes into it, but I love love love how protective Alex is of Jo. "You're safe here" while he tucks her into bed. It made me all super warm and fuzzy.

ETA: The part where Meredith falls in the stairwell? I seriously have nightmares about that. Like, wake up sweating and crying nightmares.

(Clearly, I'm watching this live, so this had better turn out ok or I am going to lose my s***.)

I am totally okay with the set up for the finale. A storm is much less ridiculous than a plane crash. I am very annoyed that I'm going to be in Europe the next couple weeks and will have to wait far too long to watch the finale. (Did I tell Pweb I'm going to Europe before? Apparently I've forgotten to tell a lot of people so if this is the first I've mentioned it...sorry!)

Still, two things about that episode drove me bonkers.
1) Being faithful to your spouse is not a bad thing. And it definitely doesn't fall into the category of "things that make you way uptight and you clearly must let go of your need to control," so don't try to use that argument to seduce someone or justify your actions.

2) Sitting on a couch after your water breaks seems highly unsanitary to me. I guess people do it all the time. Or at least in in the seats of their car to get to a hospital and whatnot. But it seems icky to me. Lay a plastic bag down of something...

Breaking Bad is back and flipping fantastic. I LOVE that Walt got caught. I can't wait to see the rest of this half of the season.

I've also started watching New Girl and...Zooey Deshchanel is becoming more and more obnoxious as the series progresses. I get it. You're cute and quirky/unique. Only, it's not cute, it's obnoxious. Schmidt, on the other hand, the supposed douche, is hilarious and in his own way, charming. Winston is falling into his own and Nick...Nick is mostly neurotic, like Jess, but it's easier for me to find it adorable when he does it. Don't get me wrong, I'd hate dating someone like him but on TV, it works.
