I've had mine for six years and still don't feel comfortable with it, so don't feel bad if you don't like them! I mostly use it in very specific cases. I think you're doing awesome!

It's been a long time since I've been able to post in this thread! But look!

Our holiday party in January is themed "Roman Holiday," so I was charged with making 4 posters to hang up around the room. This is one of them.

Image

It started out as white poster-board and was painted and had images added to it. I hope it exceeds the committee's expectations.

The one on the right is the one I talked about above that I made for Atty. I'm so pleased, still. Even better hanging up!

Then I decided I should make one for Nom-Nom! I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out :)

That's pretty cool looking, though I can't quite tell what it is. Are you cooking something?

That's a bit disheartening that it's not obvious what it is. Ah well. It's a mixing bowl at an angle, yes.

Its cousin, the pot:

I have two more coming but not tonight. I already started to mess up my layers on this one.

I thought it was a mixing bowl with a whisk or a beater, except I wasn't sure because of the spray of stuff coming out to the side. The pot looks great too. Glad to hear you're starting to mess with layers more too :)

I would have to say the pot is my favorite, but they're all awesome!

I am excited to see the next two. Can you make some artwork for my future home? You know, when I get one in the next decade or so.

Nah. :) DA is a scary, scary place filled with actual artists; I'd hear fraud alarms in my head every time I tried to post anything seriously.

You'd understand why if you say my duck picture, which looks like a misshaped head and torso on top of a lemon-shaped lower body. Or my first attempt at a pot, admittedly attempted when I was too tired to even know my own name.

Alea, those are awesome! I especially love the wine one. I'm also extremely jealous, since all the artistic genes in my family somehow managed to skip a generation ><

I like to imagine that the wine bottle is wearing a top hat, which makes it extra fancy.

Would totally put those up in my house if I were you.

Not sure I'm entirely happy with this (I don't like the visible seams, for starters) but I'm going to sleep on it and see how I feel about it later.

This is the beading project I've been working on and off on (mostly off) for the past three years. To get an idea of how slow-going this is, tonight I got one line of the long horizontal slightly W-esque in the middle of the canvas (above the stem) done and the stuff a few inches above it; it took 2.5 hours for that. I'm pretty sure this will never be done. I'd also, for vanity's sake, like to point out this is taken with my phone's camera; it looks a bit better in person.

Props on picking it back up. Beading takes a superhuman amount of patience and perseverance.
